This is probably the one Sonic game I haven’t played. The sprites look awesome and I love all the hilarious animations they gave them. I like the voices too.
I know the game was released in Japanese arcades but have any of you actually seen a cabinet anywhere?
Played it last night. I was not ready for the final part and raged. You have to escape the base in a certain amount of time otherwise it’s instant game over with no ending and no retry and my stupid save state didn’t work…
The game is a lot of fun though, especially if you can get your controls right. I’d love to get 2 other people to run through it with me simultaneously.
My guess would be because it was supposed to be played with a track ball, which isn’t exactly a preferred method for control these days. But regardless, when you play it with ahem other methods a d-pad usually works just fine so I’m not sure if that’s the reason or not.
Sonic seems to be on a roll now (no pun intended) so maybe we’ll see the arcade game get an official re-release one of these days. Heh, I wonder what the fighting game community would think of an X360/PSN port of Sonic Fighters.
I’ve never owned a cube. The PC version I have isn’t very practical. I did have it emulated, but I’m too lazy to hunt it down.
Just the Spin Dash, as I’m pretty sure the physics for everything else are pretty much the same or extremely identical. There was a video that previewed the game (I posted it but SegaSecretService had the video removed from youtube) and in the options menu, you can choose to use either the original Spin Dash, or the one from Sonic 2. They have them as two little icons.
And I’ll mention it again… if I hadn’t already. You get the choice of the US and Japanese soundtracks. Probably isn’t going to be a sound test in the game which sucks since you can’t idle in CD for more than 3 minutes or it’s game over.
I used to collect some of the comics when I was younger, can someone link me to wear I can order like all of them?(bundle) Im looking on amazon and can only find singles being sold

I recommend reading from 160 onwards then getting into Sonic Universe. The book has been very good since 160 thanks to the current writer.
Dunno if they offer it digitally though >_<
