judging from what I’ve read of the story so far I’m also assuming it’s a beginning cutscene before Time Eater comes and ruins everything.

when they say ‘special 3DS only level’ are they not counting the 6 stages that this game will not have in common with it’s HD brethren?
I had no idea modern sonic gameplay on 3ds will be in 2d as well XD…unless it has the physic s of s4 =/
Modern Sonic on the 3DS will be similar to Rush…so yes there will be ceiling walking. I posted a vid earlier that had it in it.

Eggman needs to adopt this kind of sinister, intense persona. Robotnik =/= Eggman in Sonic mythos/canon, correct? They’re two different people? One was the other’s grandfather or some shit?
Also, could someone PM me hook-ups in relation to the comics? I’d like to read some, but I don’t know what’s good and what isn’t and where to start.
Robotnik and Eggman are one and the same. Robotnik was called such in Japan but that was never really his name (combination of US & Japan retcon). Sonic & co merely called him that as a sort of nickname/insult for him. It wasn’t until the Adventure series that Robotnik sort of took on this ‘eh…whatever I don’t care’ attitude with it and just ran with the name. His real name will always be Dr. Ivo Robotnik and that is canon on both sides.
The comics are a slightly dif story. IIRC I think Robotnik (SatAM) got killed somehow and for a hot second they didn’t have a big main antagonist until Eggman came from a whole dif dimension. I don’t actually have those comics where that occured but that’s what I’ve been told happened. reads synopsis on wiki Ahh…k Sonic actually had a climatic showdown with him and put him out of his misery. The current Eggman is in fact from another dimension.
It’s hard for me to tell someone where to start since the comic does have it’s ups and downs depending upon who’s writing and what not. The comic doesn’t start to have a semblance of story apparently until around issue #39 apparently. Right now currently in the comic Robotnik rebuilt the death egg right under everyone’s noses and hit the ‘do over’ button making things the way they are currently in the Genesis arc. He actually managed to kill off a main character right before this BS too.
In the Archie comics, Robotnik and Eggman are different somewhat; IIRC, Dr. Eggman is Robotnik from an Alt. reality who came to Sonic’s world to conquer it or some such.
In the games, they’re the same character.
In the comics, they’re two different people.
