If you read the article I posted they lost two significant cast members years ago - the guy that did Lionel Hutz, Troy McClure, and most miscellaneous voices, and the woman who did Lunch Lady Doris and a lot more. They won’t end the show until the four principal voice actors call it a day.

There’s an episode where Frank Grimes’s son tries to kill Homer. I think sideshow bob was in that episode but I cant remember because it wasn’t that interesting or funny. I lose interest when I see new episodes with sideshow bob… His grudge against bart has been played out.

It probably is still going to be Mrs. Crabbapple. Chances are she was going to call it quits anyway due to her illness, so the creators decided to kill her character. I doubt they’d announce something like that if they knew she was going to die even if they were thinking about a different character.
Additionally, I tuned in a few seasons ago and it sounded like the voice actor had gotten dentures.
Mrs Krabappel’s character will be written out but not for another year.

It was animated, the intro was so damn long last night that nearly everyone lost interest and missed it.
the only way you missed it is if you didnt watch the first 5 seconds of the show. The couch gag happens later…no excuse to miss it.
