Ey all, I’m pretty new to shooters (Finally broke that fighting game barrier) and I’m looking for some new shooters for the 360. Any suggestions?I’ve heard Battlefield Bad company 2 is good…only shooters I have are Halo 3 and MW2…I’m bored of them and need another shooter.
Aw yeah. The fish are definitely biting. Thanks.
suggestions? load up on cave shooters, mushihimesama, and dodonpachi. I would invest in a good, sturdy TV too. sometimes, the controllers have been known to fly…
Ah damn it, I fucked up. lol I’m thinking shooter automatically=FPS…I need to get out more I suppose.
Sorry for bothering, didn’t mean to spam.
While I originally came in here for FPS (Again, my apologies) Mushihimesama looks fun as hell…I see why you said get a sturdy TV tho…how the hell are supposed to be the last boss lol. Where would I get/play these? Definitely interested, much appreciated
Since you are fighting game fan use your stick to play shmups on. That way you’ll be less likely to pick up the controller and throw it at your screen.
If you go online with your PS, You can find some of them in the DLC area. same for Xbox. If you want some shooting fun on the computer, check the first two or three pages of this thread. plenty of links to help warm your guns up. If you have the MAME program for your computer, I suggest digging into Progear and any shooters made by Psikyo. You won’t be dissapointed.
Just tried out Soldner-X2. Not too bad. It’ll keep you on your toes in some places, but damn near sleepwalking in others. It’ll take a little more getting used to for the power-ups and all, but still a good game for the first time out. I recomend a play before you pay for those who can gain access to it to decide if you want to go the full nine yards or not. me? I just gotta get shot, so I bought it.
I created an arcade style shooter for a game (development) jam competition. We only had the weekend to start and complete it, but I like how it turned out. Hasn’t been released to the public yet, but I have a of me sucking at it. Was thinking of Tempest while developing it, although overall its pretty different.
Ketsui DS, awesome game. DOOM is crushing my soul
I would love to see ARIKA put more shooters on the DS, for such a small screen I have next to no trouble seeing the bullets. All in all an excellent technical achievement.
Played Dimuho (?) for the first time yesterday in an arcade. It’s an older shmup produced by Capcom…strangely enough I couldn’t find any vids or google info on it, but then again I’m not 100% sure on the spelling or the full title of the game. Anywho, the first stage was pretty easy. The next five were not. The last stage I think it was had a really cool concept – your character was in a tournament and it was pretty much a boss rush. The last opponent in the tournament was a ninja, and he actually fought against your ship before getting inside his own ninja mech. BADASS
Thanks! The cab I played on had a few games on it throughout the day. It was a six-button panel, but the game itself only had three buttons. The first was rapid fire (tap), the second was bomb, and the third was rapid fire (hold)
I’ve been kicking it old-school with Gradius (NES ver.) Life Force and Gradius ReBirth. In Gradius I managed to get to stage 3 without THE CODE. But that game is freakin’ brutal! It’s bad enough to get no continues but add in the amount of crap the game throws at you and you’ve got one tough shooter. I was at the last stage coming upon the final boss and I died. That. SUCKED!!!
Gradius ReBirth stage 2 is beating me something fierce.
Life Force. I never could beat this game without THE CODE. At least this game gives you infinite continues, unlike NES Gradius.
i literally 1 life cleared gradius 1 nes on my first try it is a lot a lot a lot easier than gradius 1 ac which i have 1cced a handful of times. hardest part in g1 ac is dumb stage 4 and dumb last stage
ok, so I really want a 360 but I am frustrated with the region coding thing. I just want to play the CAVE shmups released for it, would it be worth it to get a JP 360? Is there a way to skip the region coding nonsense?
You may be right, cause I didn’t use the bottom 3 lol. I watched a vid and saw the player do some kind of color swap power up or w/e, which I didn’t know existed because I was just playing for the first time BTW who’s ready for Daifukkatsu in November on the 360?!?!?!?
BTW scum gale there is one way that I know of to bypass region coding but it fore goes any use of online with said 360 AND its a real pain to do. Either way if you end up getting a J360 or getting the mod I’m referring to you’re gonna end up buying a new 360
