I don’t think Ibuki will have any particularly crazy option selects. On top of that, the majority of the situations where you’d be using them (untechable knockdowns) you’d probably be better served going for the mixup with a kunai safe jump. That said, you can option select backdashes with meaty j.lk, buffer neckbreaker. I was also messing around with meaty j.lk, buffer lk command dash to chase them. I think this might lead to an inescapable U1 against certain characters (Chun, Abel, Balrog, Viper, etc) or at least a very strong setup if the dash is properly selected… I don’t think it gives enough advantage for a free combo/grab though.
Here’s a vid of the neck breaker option select on Chun. I lol’d @ ex bird.

Outside of characters who already have weak wake up games though, I don’t think this is a big deal.
I too LOL at ex-bird. Thanks for that.

wtf I’m all about throwing, no combo for me damn
as I watching my video again, I notice that I need to set the vortex up more precisely, I mean after neck breaker I am still not sure when to s.j to throw kunai so that I can start my target combos after the kunai hits
any suggestion would be appreciated thx
First Akuma match Ibuki 9 hit combo at 5:44
cr.lp, s.lk, s.mk, mk(?).tsumoji, s.lp, s.mk, mk(?)tsumoji…Damn thats sexy!
it’s lk tsumoji 1 frame link i guess?
and of course you can link it to neck breaker and do that again! lol
too bad it looks like the 2nd rep whiffs very randomly. that’s gotta be one thing i hate about ibuki. inconsistant links. good thing they reduced overall dmg in ssf4, so random mashed out ultra/dmg isn’t as crazy as vanilla.
i wait a little bit and then do the super jump kunai one that someone posted a while ago. doing the regular jump version (jwong’s beta vortex) gets you killed against wakeup more often. i notice u were doing low (maybe tk’ed?) kunai after forward/neutral throw. it doesnt’ look like it crosses up, but it’s hitting him. so you must be beating something, do you know if he was trying to DP? or he just kept thinking ur gonna cross up.?
great matches as always, though. i thought about doing tsmuji(sp?) strings. definitely a nice tool to have as pressure. maybe i’ll mess around with it soon.
i also went ahead and recorded some vids. i played kind of sloppy in some of them (like i have a punish, but i super jump for some reason, i can’t even remember why i would)

looking for feedback, though watching my vids again, i see a lot of glaring mistakes. i am having a hard time finding a reliable way for that first knockdown. i’m heavily relying on random lvl1 FA counterhit, which has gotten me killed back in vanilla. so i’d love to take a different approach (or at least have interchangable options).
i think in some matches, i get close s.jab (when i wanted far) and i eat 720. sigh
also, someone asked about thawk matchup. honestly i don’t know how much this helps with the matchup, but i do know that doing wakeup ex dp after getting hit by spd usually gets me killed. my ex dp never auto corrects, and when i attempt to block and flee, i just eat shit.
last thought before i gtg, it really sucks when thawk blocks the vortex correctly, seeing how he’s a grappler, maybe i shouldnt’ try to vortex him?
yeah that close s.lp is pain in the ass when you have a perfect chance for your string(not target combo) and that comes out
i’d rathe start with c.lp instead of s.lp, that way you can link it to s.lp or s.lk and do the strings
and does anyone utilize her super?
I’ve been practicing her sjc super after target combos and been ok in training mode but never succed in real matches.
has anyone tried this in real match? it sucks both super and ultra2 have same commands with slight different timing (super being linked after her jump) but I can’t link super consistantely.
Even for block string, I wanna make the super combo string consistent cuz it does tons of cheap dmg
ugh, so sometimes when i click post reply, it doesn’t posts and i have to figure out what i typed 2 hours ago
so yeah, sometimes i get c.jab, s.jab and still get close s.jab. whack
i use penguin kicks into super for a few reasons.
side note: i cant’ remember if i posted here and didn’t have it register or if i posted in another thread, but i am currently dying randomly but badly to flowcharts due to ibuki’s shitty ass range and million of command normals.
for example, trying to punish with walk forward s.fwd xx neckbreaker, i often get overhead or her slowass 10 frame b+fwd.
or when i try to punish with s.jab, c.rh, i get whiffed s.jab into their fierce shoryuken.
I know how you feel. I came from Vega in Sf4 and was hoping i wouldn’t have to deal with that bs anymore, but sadly Vega, Juri and ibuki all lack Reversals/Quick Invincibility frame moves -_-. I hate not being able to use characters I really like cuz developers don’t want to add something for whatever reason(I know I can still use her, but it’s just annoying as shit to have people sitting there spamming lp srk and crossups when you get knocked down and only begin able to block and wait for an opening. Who ever said this game was going to be more offensive was retarded)
Hm i would use more b+mp,if im not incorrect it stops the air to ground condor dive
Also its a godly AA
it stops it sometimes. i tried it. it’s not very nice when he beats you. it’s a lot better just to block it and be quick to punish it if it whiffs
Check this out

Wait, so the f.MK goes over the SRK and the f.HK is meaty enough to beat it out?
I think he’s saying that a f.MK goes over a reversal SRK if done at the right time, f.HK will beat out an SRK that isn’t reversal, maybe 2/3 frames after.

5th video has that super combo that I mentioned earlier hehe finally i did it
Nice job KK, keep it up
Nice job Drake, those videos were very helpful in showing good use of her normals.
i liked those inputs for the sjc to ultra in the second video, i’m going to practice doing it that way tonight
Was that against reversal timing srks? It wasn’t showing the reversal message on the screen and I know from my personal experience that I don’t know how to make the dummy do true reversals. Does any one know how to get that btw?
I could see it working though, at least against some/most uppercuts
