The Shinobi Secrets: Ibuki Video Thread

don’t see anything impressive with Daisho’s Ibuki. Like, its really pretty straight forward gameplay lol. Don’t know what you guys are seeing that I’m not.

I am guessing that thats the reason why its so impressive. He doesn’t use tricks, or gimmicks, but solid offense and defense, and wins. Basically he uses Ibuki in a way that is safe but effective. Kind of like Ryu lol.

A winner

damn nice…

learned a few things from your ibuki nice mixups there

My Ibuki play:

I’ve just recently got a hold on a decent camera so i could record some matches. This was just part of an endless battle on xboxlive. I know I dropped a combo here and there and whatnot but Im trying my best to level up. And just for teh record the chap i played, donTMC, was a LOT better than this video shows.

I hope to get some more vids up soon. I’d love to hear about what I’m doing improperly/wrong/stupidly so i can get better at it.

Your Ibuki was looking pretty salty on some of those matches xD. I can understand though, missing links, and random shit can piss alot of people off. Over-all though, ballin ibuki. Some of the times though I was “SHE HAS ENOUGH STUN! NECKBREAKER THAT BITCH!” lol, but it’s cool. Also, I noticed that a few times they started teching the throws. Sinc you had kind of conditioned them to do so you could have probably got some more free damage with raida to beat out their Techs. Over all, good shit.

Just got done playing at a tournament and I had a particularly interesting match vs. one of the other tournament players who decided to pick up Cody. Originally I had planned on using Viper throughout the whole tournament since it was a serious pay out monthly with like about 40 people coming out and 200 bucks for 1st place so I wanted to perform the best I could and didn’t want to leave it to chance with my barely tested Ibuki. I thought I was gonna have at least a pretty solid first match win against his Cody with my Viper but he edged it out against her and I thought I’ll either have to grind it out 2 more times with Viper or try and switch the tables a bit by throwing my Ibuki at him. Which I did and well here’s the result of that.

I’ll post vids of a couple other videos I may be able to find later but I only used Ibuki one other time in that specific tournament and basically just auto loss against Rog again. LOL.

damn you lost to balrog too
balrog gonna give us serious problems
cuz i lost to that ass yesterday lol

Yeah damage scaling starts to kick in hard after about 4 or 5 hits in a combo. If an ultra is going to kill them just ultra. Outside of the fact that you dropped a lot of your combos and you throw neckbreakers all over the place like you’re on some suicide mission you’re not bad. You actually apply zoning with the kunais instead of just focusing on an all out bumrush. Just block more and work on your bnb’s. Practice plinking the s.MK during c.LP x2, s.MK link.

Real nice work under pressure bro,but did i hear right someone saying Ibuki is an imposter?
I really hope that means shes way better in this enviroment, because she really is.

DJ01 i also gotta ask for your links after the overhead, you like the s.mk over d.mp?
Maybe it’s just me but i find far s.lp into d.mp easier to hit confirm for ultra or other shennagians.

Absolutely fantastic ending in that cody fight man. You’ve opened up my eyes to the power of U2

Cool, thanks for the advice.

Sako (Ibuki) Vs. Blanka

this guy is… ibuki god
so many things to learn from him

Was that a crossup super vs Blanka? It looked more like Sako accidentally did a super instead of kunai, but the Blanka was too noob to block, twice.

Um, you should probably post vids of yourself losing. If your opponent loses, he’s probably not going to do a good job of exemplifying your mistakes.

That blanka player did not perform well at all in those videos, although sako did. I know a really good blanka player that I may try to post some videos of if I get the chance.

Also from the input it seems that the blanka player thought that both super’s were crossups and blocked the wrong way.

Excellent point. Here are a few that were still in my replay logs. They were my most one sided losses. I think everything that I tend to do wrong, you’ll see it in these vids. I’m real green and that will be obvious. My timing is also impeccably awful (plenty examples of it in the deejay bouts).

Just gonna take putting the nose to the grinder and practice x 1000 but again, any critique of my play will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I tried sako mixup in training mode
on dudley

on vega

dudley has more stun cap so neakbreaker would be better for anyone who has more stun cap

works on guy, cody, gief, rufus, chun, abel, seth, hakan, deejay, gen with ease

I think I fought you once in a Rank Match lol
