What part are you disagreeing too? I tested it out, it has to be at max range in order for the neckbreaker to connect. Or at least very close to max range. The other neckbreakers don’t reach in time and the ex version is too fast.
How did you test? Just grinded it out in versus mode a bunch of times?
Sort of. I set a second player to 0% life and then measured the c.MP with the little squares pm the training room stage. Half a square too far and Ibuki will slide under. I did try to link the other neckbreakers to c.MP. They both seem to die out right before the neckbreaker should connect. I found the distances where Ibuki stopped sliding under and tested everything around that. The other neckbreakers don’t last long enough, or reach idk. You can also connect Raida from a c.MP. but that’s not as appealing as a juggled neckbreaker.
What I haven’t tried trough… Are other normals. I remember c.LK working with everything and every distance, but that’s because it doesn’t launch them. s.MK is a toughie, I’m too slow for that.

When I watch this, it makes me think that the C.viper match-up isn’t that bad.
I don’t think the matchup was that bad to begin with.
I’d much rather play vs CViper than Bipson or Cammy.

Ibuki vs Viper is even. Maybe Ibuki´s favor.
Damn. Watching all these players just makes me feel like I’ll never get that good Q_Q
Practice makes perfect. As long as you’re willing to invest time into developing your skill set at the game, in a methodical fashion, you can be as good as you want to be.
Mingo and I pretty much had that exact conversation tonight. I’m on a new training regimen so to speak.
Could you elaborate? Because I’ve been doing nothing but practicing ibuki since AE came out on PC, and I’m still total trash Q_Q
Basically he gave me 2 setups to practice while still hitconfirming cr.LP cr.LP st.MK Neckbreaker on a random block dummy.
cr.LP cr.LP throw
cr.LP cr.LP walk st.MP st.MK MK Tsumuji
Since I have major problems with applying pressure up close, he told me to stop playing online. Once I can do these types of things without thinking and still make sure I get the knockdowns when my opponent is getting hit, I’ll go back to it. I did this for only an hour last night and I already feel like I’m doing better.
I’m sure your problems are different than mine, but this is how I’m going to deal with training from now on. No reason to play online if I can’t play the game in the first place.
What have you been practicing on exactly, GeforceFX?
If you mean what I am going to be doing, I went into training mode, set Ryu as the CPU and put him on random block then went to town with those setups.
If you mean how I used to practice, I’d make an endless lobby and beat people that can’t play and lose to people that can.
I meant GeForceFX. My bad, still trying to get used with Tapatalk.
Trogdor gave me the motivation to update the Ibuki Training Regimen.
Most of what I told him to do is now documented in the Offense section, here: Devote Yourself to Your Training! Ibuki Training Regimen
How bad do you want to be good with Ibuki? Do you want to dominate players in online? Offline? Both? Or you just want to be ‘decent’?
I had video’s of me doing terrible but that didn’t stop me from trying to be a good player. It also depends on how far you’re willing to go and what kind of devotion you’re looking for. I went to local tournaments and gatherings to get better and I asked for help when I got lost. Do you want to go to these tournaments and practice? Do you have the time too? If you ask yourself these questions first it will be much more clearer of what you want to do first.
I (a Gen player) will be live streaming a FT10 set with the best Ibuki in my region at about 1:15pm EST today (less than an hour from now), you can check it out over at http://www.twitch.tv/mercuryshot if you like.
I’ll be putting it up to youtube a bit later on as well.
What region is that?
Stuff like this:
I have the opposite problem to Trogdor, I’m too hasty to die. I keep pressuring without thinking, baiting. And when I DO try to think more, I go to this “only defence mode” that I just get owned in.
I’ll make sure to read it. Damn, looks like a long road ahead of me lol.
Well, I dont care if I lose 9999 times in a row, as long as I get better. I always play to get better, not to win. But the problem is that the offline scene is non existant where I live (and I REALLY mean it).The best offline practice I got was when a friend flew in from friggin sweden for a week or so, that was amazing… Pulling off tsumuji loops, dang, you just don’t get that online : D
I’ve been playing this since AE came out. And when I say since, I really mean it, every single spare hour off of work I’ve been putting to SF. But I still get totally obliterated by the most retarded people…
