The Shinobi Secrets: Ibuki Video Thread

I just tested U2 and it doesn’t work, she trades horribly for it since she gets stuck in the ridiculous vacuum reeling animation.

The dash isn’t invincible, but it can cross him up during the start-up animation if they did it too late, so you wind up behind him. Its pretty much the only option she has, and its better than what most characters get. Basically more useless trivia.

You sure about that? Seth’s U2 has the same startup as Chun’s U2, and it’s definitely possible to do it against Chun’s. Maybe it’s just a spacing issue?

Did it too late? You see the ultra flash, you mash HK cd.

Seth has that 0 damage physical attack vacuum hit-box infront of him for a portion of the ultra (I don’t know exactly how long but it lasts a while). So even though Ibuki is projectile invincible, the moment she isn’t fully invincible she gets smacked with the vacuum.

Chun’s apparently (according to the SRK wiki at least) has 7 frames of startup to Ibuki’s 9, so done on reaction Ibuki is still invincible when Chun’s first hit should have landed.

Are you serious? Oh yeah, she only has invincibility with U2 up until 2 frames BEFORE her active-frames. Hense why it trades so often.

I don’t know them exactly, but Seth’s U2 can be done on your wake-up at a certain spacing to make it inescapable, as well as after a DP FADC. Poongko does it a lot and it’s similar to Rufus’ U2 back in Super. Dead cheap.

She has to have the invincibility up until the frame before otherwise she wouldn’t even trade with Seth. I can’t find any invincibility data for her, though.

When I wake up, I use command dash against mistimed jumps/demon flips for Akuma/Fuerte’s f*ing nonsense pressure/other setup to get out, and it works fine. Of course nobody has to use it if the jumpin will hit meaty

On opponent’s wake up, HK cd - meaty st.MK or overhead works fine as well.

Watch me zone out T.Hawk from 2:50.
I always have a round after so many games where I’m just like “f it” and I just jump in like crazy. haha

–> Look out for me punishing the Condor Dive with U2, and practice that timing in Training Mode. Another thing is consider that EX Hien will put you in the other side of the stage, whilst keeping you throw-invincible. Do not copy my Ultra Punish (backdash into Neckbreaker).

Next video will be vs. Blanka.

These videos btw are just showing basic set-ups working against certain characters. I’m pretty much trying to force a situation in each one (not the Ryu match, that’s a match against a well known local player who would go bonkers if I left him name in).

So for the Blanka one you’ll see a basic sj.LK set-up, and why you shouldn’t go into TC4 in case they are crouching.

Also if you have any questions like, could he have DP’d there or something? Then please ask. It’s hard to find specific matches to demonstrate match-ups…

Wtf are you even talking about?

I thought we were talking about HK cd vs Seth/Chun’s ultra 2 chip. Are we suddenly talking about using Ibuki’s useless ultra 2 instead?

What would it be like if you didn’t play scrubs that mashed cr.HK with Ryu and spammed CONDOR SPIRE SPD with THawk?

And maybe played someone that knew how to antiair, or at least use their dp properly.

Haha okay. The Ryu player himself isn’t a scrub, but anyway that’s like saying if Umehara didn’t mash Up-kicks at EVO. If he didn’t make a mistake of course he’s not going to lose.

I’m not able to just find a match against a good player for each character. Regardless I’m hunting specific characters and trying to force certain situations to happen. Like the T.Hawk instance, I wanted my health to go down so I could show the Hashinsho punish.

I guess I’ll just make them short clips then.

  1. I don’t know what were you doingat the beginning (crouch techs?) but doing something in the middle of Cody’s pressure is usualy taking a huge risk…
  2. WTF execution failures! Also just a psychological tip, but if you’re in the kind of day when you can’t ven link a st.LP to st.MK don’t even try to Tsumuji-loop

I’ll post as well local ranking streams as soon as they’re online, but well… My execution on arcade sucks :frowning:

One crouch-tech, the rest was me not being able to backdash (another execution error I didn’t mention because you can’t ‘see’ it) so I stood up to take the low hit.

The set-up I did requires a Tsumuji Loop, it’s a throw bait (empty LK Tsumuji).

My execution was fine on my second match. I think my team-mate might remember. It’s just that your first match in ~6 days probably shouldn’t be a match where you’re playing for a team.

I really wouldn’t have bothered posting this, but I was demonstrating that even though there’s a good reason why I lost, I want to show that it’s still possible to learn something from it. Many others would just say crap execution, nothing to see here and blame it on pressure or something. I think this is a good example to archive here.

EDIT: It’s really hurting my pride to not upload the Problem-X matches, but it’s with Makoto so it’s irrelevant. =P

EDIT2: I’m just glad I sorted my execution out so quickly so people were asking me for tips, even F-Word =D

Uploaded 2/3 Ranked Matches against A-Rank players (15000BP+/3500PP+) before heading to bed last night.
I also played FoodySan’s Yun, but it was so disgusting (wake-up Ultras) that I didn’t want to upload it, despite me winning.

In other news, I’m finally back up to 3500PP on Xbox LIVE \o/. My next goal is to reach 6000PP on AE PC, but I’m so not looking forward to betting on a 300 win-streak… I don’t know how Alioune does it. I’ll leave it for next year I suppose, if ver.2012 doesn’t reset everything.

http://fenixware.net/fab/fab_quoteMain.asp?id=8888 <-- some of these win-quotes are hilarious, especially what Yun has to say about Ibuki. “Girl, your forehead’s so big it’s a fivehead!”

£10 to your PAYPAL account if you can guess who the Rose player is.

Foodysan’s Yun?
Foodysan plays Yang as a main, so I bet his Yun is ugly :stuck_out_tongue:

Alioune is just godlike, too bad he doesn’t want to go to tournaments!

Oh, yesterday MOV was in the local arcade, I got a chance to play him. A lot of people told me “when you play a japanese, it’s a whole different world”. It’s the second time I play a japanese and I can confirm it. I don’t get raped when I play top French players, but man japaneses are in an another dimension!
Kindevu can warp time with any character.
MOV is gdlk at any game you can think of. He even raped me at Puyo Puyo.

Now I feel low-tier again.

Yep it was nasty. I wish he’d pick Ryu since I stole a few games of him back in Super, but hey, why not pick a 7-3 match-up?

I’m glad everyone does Kunai into RH Launcher now, lol.

@ little sushi, are you planning to go to SoCal Regionals 2011? i would be hype to see you in a match with Alex’s ryu

I feel like such an auto-pilot scrub now.
Oh sorry, I meant to say thanks.

Yeah I know. Every time I post a video every Ibuki player does that. That’s why I don’t post videos :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I’m glad my Ibuki influences people though. Kinda, lol.

I could have sworn there was more to this post but I couldn’t log on from my work PC for some reason.

Yeah there was, but I felt it was too confusing so I edited it. It originally said that there was nothing execution-wise that made me feel impressed with myself now.

But hey, what do you know? You share a similarity with Iyo after all. He doesn’t like uploading anything.

He obv doesn’t wanna get exposed, amirite? lol
