~230 Ranked matches on PC (I don’t know 'cause my file keeps getting deleted), and 600 (something) matches on Xbox according to my save.
5000/7000 matches I’ve played have been against someone who only plays as Ibuki, and another who only plays as Ryu/Dudley. 1000/7000 of those matches are with my brother, who played mostly Sakura and Makoto.
So yeah, I’ve never played a Ken who’s used j.LK before.
P.S. Mixing of past and present tenses is(was, lol) necessary.
So then it should be a common sighting then, right? I think he was acting surprised because not seeing Ken do j.LK before is like never seeing a Ken that has ever jumped at you.
My bad. I didn’t notice someone else had posted videos after his post. The #1 player on PS3 looks almost as bad as the #1 player on XBL with even less execution lol.
J LK use on left corner is abusive izuna…cause in left corner if you hit the LK early it wont cross up even if it looks like a cross up, he has to pass your head before he hits the button to actually cross up. At least that is in most of the stages, not sure if it works in all of them but i am sure it does. Also the right corner will always cross over regardless of how high he is…if he hits the button its a cross up…someone might want to test it but I believe it also works on kunais that are thrown real meaty on the back ankle if you character hasnt cleared the threshold for the left corner to actually be a cross up when the kunai hits.
In both corners shotos can do an early j. lk and it will cross up but they can’t combo off it. The tricky thing is after they cross up they land in front of you so even if you block the cross up j. lk you have to block the opposite way to block the rest.
I don’t think so. I see it most often when someone gets hit by a shoryu in the corner and they quick stand. I think that’s why Akuma players end their combo in light shoryu instead of heavy shoryu in the corner because they can just hold up forward and do the cross up lk shenanigans. Also, if the player doesn’t quick stand against Akuma he can just do a demon flip kick as soon as he lands and it will cross up too.
Gabe is right actually after I tested it, I use to notice it a ton with Rufus but after testing it even with Ibuki its definitely Character specific. Like if you are Rufus against Dictator you can never cross over with Dive kick on left corner unless you time it on wake up or do it real late otherwise its always hits in the front. But if you do it on Right corner it always will cross over regardless of waking up or just standing still…not sure why but its pretty silly.
