You had to have started playing fighting games last year (or be an NRS player) if you think they’re going to ban Abigail. As funky as Smash is, they didn’t ban Meta Knight nor have they banned Bayo.

Just this game has very few active frames on normals + 2 different get-up timings so actually landing a true meaty is a rare occurence (ie, placing a normal so the opponent wakes up into the later active frames, so you recover sooner and get better frame advantage)

A good player can do like 6-7 meaties every match

The lack of active frames + 2 different get ups make that not happen very often so we settle for options that at least beat 3 frame buttons, which isn’t really a meaty

It is telling if someone doesn’t know a basic thing that the rest of their knowledge base might be compromised or poorly researched. Especially with something like meaties where the frame advantage gains are literally discussed in every SFV oki video I’ve seen.

Because you’ve decided to drag this further than it needed to, now everybody in the SF5 general needs an explanation:

I was messing around with Zeku trying to figure out the meaty timing for cr.hp. Now I knew it was going to give me extra advantage, but I thought it was just gonna be +1 (this being from some shit I read and heard a while ago that hitting on the last frame gives you additional advantage because of the move is recovering faster than if you did it on the first active frame). So instead of being at +7 from it, SF5 training mode calculation gave me a +10. Did it a couple of times to make sure I saw it correctly and then I was confused. See I’m doing the meaty correctly, at that timing the opponent has no option but to block, it was hitting on the last frame so I was getting the extra frame advantage.

Now I did the obviously wrong thing which was to ask Ves, somebody who has a better understanding on the more technical aspects of this sort of thing. When I asked him, he was just an asshole about it for 5 minutes instead of saying “Nah, the part you’re missing is that you add the rest of the active frames from the normal.”

People in the discord had a laugh, I was mildly annoyed and then memes get made about me not knowing how meaties work regardless of the fact that I knew about the additional frame advantage and how they are executed. Because that’s the funny part about it: In the world of your dumbfuckery and LW’s, having a misunderstanding on something means you don’t know how anything works.

Considering I didn’t bring up some random shit that had nothing to do with SRK, LW was hilariously out of pocket. What’s funny is that you Ves should know this from the fact that bringing shit from IRC to SRK has been a rule since forever. Because dragging shit from random places leads to dumb ass situations like this one. What’s worse is that all this erupted from you not being able to answer a question like anything other than an unrelenting mouth breather.

I’ll highlight the last part just because your misunderstanding of it gives me a giggle. LW’s testosterone somehow jumped started in the last two years which has lead to all sorts of hilarious posts here. Outside of some silly comments about him suddenly posting asses, nobody’s made a big deal about; certainly nothing to the extent he did over my silly ass misunderstanding of meaty advantage. We could’ve, we didn’t. He thought it was cute to drag a conversation he didn’t fully read somewhere else for some dumb ass joke. There’s a lot of shit I could drag from other places but that would ruin some of the basic ways SRK functions. On the other hand you’re little reply and my consequent response invariably leads to a couple of things:

1. It brings up a situation that was technically water under the bridge between LW and I. LW didn’t understand why I went in, I explained in detail, he felt bad and I ignored the rest of convo because others were trying to defend it. Why don’t I allow shit to get dragged from outside and into GD, even between thread to thread if its naming names? Because it leads to this and this is a shitty thing to have in a thread.

2. Now everybody gets to see how much of an elitist dumbfuck and an absolute worthless of a resource you are to most of the people here. You couldn’t clarify a misunderstanding without making an massive cunt out of yourself. What’s funny is that you say a lot shit about GD when nobody in GD has ever given me grief over clarifying FG info or the other way around. Probably because helping each other understand things and get better is why we came to this place and we don’t expect everybody to have indepth info on everything. Good job acting out the caricature outsiders have of the FGC.

The sad part is point number 3):

You see, now the Discord that Frotzey was pushing is absolutely worthless to everybody in this thread as a resource because its very much obvious you can’t ask a question there without you guys being cunts and even worse you’ll drag this shit into SRK as a massive net negative. Everything said in that discord is now up in the air because LW thought he was clever and you doubled down defending some dumb shit that ultimate shows you to be just as fucking dumb.
