  • he also lost c. fierce after stomp combo, meaning no heavy upper juggle.
  • no heavy upper after cc means you get much lower damage and weaker oki situation. before you got corner carry and + a million lol.
  • plaid didnt mention that his cc combos are also unreliable now, unless you go for the minimum damage one.
  • many tick throws were also removed.
  • command grab is 7f start up and ends far as fuck with 0f advantage. how you gonna steal rounds with that?

thats why i switched to ed and enjoy consistent combos that loop into themselves. B)

So with vt1 you can activate during a jump and get back roundhouse ex donkey hp dp for 218. Beefy AA combo. You might like it since you prefer back roundhouse as an anti air

I still dunno about opting for that over dp tho in non big damage situations. If they back roll or just mix up timings you only got 40 for your AA which would basically make it a 9 frame jab with a better hitbox

he’s still a powerhouse in the neutral with a beastly mixup game and a great anti air, and not only his VT1 is unchanged but he is among those characters that don’t really suffers too much from the VTC scaling nerf.
Yes his max corner damage is a bit tricky and can get him in the corner instead of his opponent, yes he can’t get his max dmg combo from stomp oh noes that’s terrible.
He’s still one of those character (toghter with Urien and Abigail) that can put you in the corner with massive damage from a read like this one

Shit, I am a huge fan of 90’s hip hop and I’ve listened to Mobb Deep for a few thousand hours easily. I was testing out B+HK as an AA last night against a dummy Ryu’s Jump + HP and it seemed somewhat unreliable. Is there a trick to it?

FWIW, I found c.HP to be much more reliable but also deals less damage.

Speaking of jab i mostly shook the habit a while ago. The one im having a hard time breaking is ryu AA crouch mp. It worked mostly in 2.5 even after the nerf from S1, but with the heavy jump in button buff it gets snuffed out a lot.

Gonna be tough since its the input i get when fuck up a dp motion and its what i default to if someone jumps at max heavy dp range

Sounds like Rog just needs some launch inconsistencies fixed. With that done he’s still completely better than S2 Juri who still won more CPTs than other characters.

Yeah the collision changes are altering some combos or even making them not possible anymore. I noticed a few for my character as well coming into AE even though they are not as significant/important as that corner juggle. I told my friend who plays Rod to bring it up to Capcom and hope they address it in a patch before CPT. These definitely don’t look intentional.

-Speaking of whack ass execution in combos, fuck Dhalsim’s trial # 4. That shit is more annoying than the Honda trial in SF4 where you have to land the sumo-splash at just the right height and angle to be able to juggle it into ultra. I did it, but I never want to see it again. Even if I see a Sim player pull it off in a match, I’m gonna give him the side-eye like “Really nigga? You really took the time to practice that finicky shit?”. Man fuck that combo.
