Bergamo the crusher laid it out and Zeno was willing to end the tournament and spare all universes and goku actively made sure it didn’t happen.

Goku was making sure it would happen, but even WAY BEFORE THAT, THEY WERE PLANNED TO BE ERASED EVENTUALLY, maybe not in Goku’s life time, but it was going to happen.

Goku being some generic hero character was always wrong though, dude has always been a maniac in disguise. He has his Human side and his Saiyan side.
Pretty sure Vegeta has more Human characteristics than Goku at this point, he’s pretty protective of family - Goku barely got angry when Black told him he’d killed ChiChi and Goten with his own body.

I won’t let super off with the “Zeno was gonna do it anyway” thing that was like 12 to 15 episodes after it was obvious it was gokus fault. Toei retconing it doesn’t hide toriyamas original intention that gokus junkie highs from combat finally came with big consequences.
Remember beerus was straight up about to hakai him to prevent him from talking to Zeno cause he knew.
Goku is just too bad ass not to like, he’s the the ultimate original cliche.

In the original dub goku spared vegeta cause of mercy.
The actual dialogue is that he told krillen to let him go cause he wanted to fight him again.
Him and nappa killed like 20,000 people at the minimum and goku spared him so he could fight him again.

tbh some universes could be weak, it’s just that the average power level is around an SSJ.
So you could have a ton of mid-tier mortals instead of big bads.
This is, so far, my only major gripe with the game. It’s especially weird that they’d give the different versions of the same character (Gohan vs Adult Gohan, Goku vs. Goku Black, etc.) the same assist as that seems like something that’s going to discourage diversity (i.e. people will just pick whichever is the better version of the character). Looking at the assists that characters bring to the table I think that there will be a lot of value to be found in the most unique assists.
Lastly, between this topic and the DBFZ topic in ‘Fighting Game Discussion’ I am so thankful that lore-wise I don’t have a fucking clue what people are talking about.

And even if that were true which it isn’t it was about 2 and a half months between its obvious it’s all gokus fault and the new reveal of naw it isn’t.

Awww, that’s disappointing. I understand it for SSGSS forms, but not for Gohan forms or Goku Black.
Yeah I don’t really care for DBZ characters and thought the lore was too much after high school. The whole charging all day to miss your spirit bomb in the next episode is lame after you see it 5 times.
So variants of characters have the same assist? That in one way is good because if they have a really good assist you know both versions will have access to it. As far as diversity goes it generally sucks and further dilutes assist options.
Captain Ginyu will probably see some play as he’s basically a walking field of self assists. Especially if there’s a way to tag other characters in after. Being able to call 2 assists at once is going to make Android 18 OD as you can call her to shut out their assist while calling yours. See her being on a lot of teams due to that
