Thank you :woot:
With setups you mean different combinations against different enemy strategies?
The big problem is that I’m not so bad performing combos or link, but when I start getting rushed (for example a real player or a ultra-insane pc) I fail them all
Anyway I’ll kep practicing :wgrin:
What about the pads (my previous post)?
Sticks > Pads for fighting games. Or at least that’s what most top players will tell you.
I’d really suggest you buy a stick instead of the fight pad if you want to get serious with the game. You’ll probably find the fightpad a lot better than the X360 controller, but you’ll also probably find a stick a lot better than the fight pad once you get used to it.
Hi everyone. I have SF4 for the PC for a while now, and been playing it quite a lot. I am playing mostly on championship mode, and recently got to G1. But for my surprise there where few people in G1 on the PC. So my question is, can I reset my grade points in the championship mode, and beggin from the start ? G2 was really fun and there where a lot of people playing, and I got the best connection in that mode. Ranked matches arent bad, but it takes longer to find good players and the connection isnt that good.
Hello everyone, while i’m not really new to playing SF, I am now really trying to learn using a joystick over a joypad. many times i’ll try and do something on a pad and become a bit frustrated when things dont happen like i expect them to. any tips on how to get used to using a stick?
Anybody else getting aggressive when playing SF4?Yesterday i broke my Gamepad because it was inacurate, sometimes i start screaming and yelling around in my pet if i lose lol.I mostly hate Balrog Players i cant beat Balrog doesnt matter which character i choose.ARGGGGGGGG
That’s a problem a bunch of us ran into when we were grinding Championship mode on consoles. And, if the PC version is the same, there isn’t a way to reset your GP. Unfortunately, I think you’re just gonna have to wait it out.
Personally I suggest using this time to explore the Player Match system! You’re definitely going to play games against a lot of awful players, but every so often you’ll run into a real challenge – friend them! After building a really solid friendslist, you’ll probably never want to play Championship Mode again.
Systran,
I think I’m a little beyond beginner status now, but I just wanted to say that I think your videos are GREAT! I wish I had access to shit like this when I was scrubbing the fuck out in February (…and March, and April, and May, and etc.)
I’m in the same situation. Played the Alpha series heaps on the PC (using the keyboard; never bothered to invest in a joystick), bought SF4 for the PS3 and played with the d-pad until I got to G2 in Championship Mode and started to get my arse kicked.
Recently (about 4 days ago) bought a joystick (to see whether it would help me improve my game) and I’m still getting used to it. I switched mains too, so I don’t reckon that’s helping either :wonder:
I guess its just more practice that is needed. I’ve also reduced my Championship playing and take part in more Player matches with people on my friends list - I have some reasonably good players there that are quite patient with my current situation and are happy to help me practice.
Dont know if this has been asked already sorry if it has just dont wonna sift though all 70 odd pages. I have a really annoying problem with ryu or any shoto for that matter when he is doing a j.HK on me i just can not stop it other then blocking it i use bison and just cant fiqure out away of beating it i normally use s.hk but that either trades or gets beaten completely any help would be very much appreciated.
I would of posted this in the bison section but havnt got my 50 posts yet so this was the best choice.
Sometimes breaking down the combo can help. So practice FADC out of the ex messiah over and over, and then try to tack on the motion for the ultra after that comes out with no problems.
Also another thing that personally happened to me, is I found out that I was rushing the inputs. I had over practiced to the point I was going too quickly, and so if you’re like me slowing down how you do it will actually help. (Since at least for the tendency is to speed up).
Hi, I’m quite new to Sf4 and am using an SE stick, but I’m having trouble with execution on it. It is a square gate stick and simple things like qcf’s are giving me a lot of grief, anyone care to give step by step advice on where to put the stick for these?
Don’t max out the stick movements so you “ride the gate”. Use smaller movements. The gate is great for charge characters since you’ll hold down+back alot. You’ll hear the stick click long before it reaches the gate.
ive been playing sf4 for a week or so and winning every cpu game easyly but when i go online i always get hammered in the first 10 seconds, any advice???
Look at the forums for your chosen character, read the combo threads, watch videos. You’ll need to learn some basic combos with your character, stuff that is unblockable once it starts and lets you finish with a super or ultra without getting punished.
Just hanging around and hit heavy kick won’t do much against a human who knows the game.
It only works with the CPU’s.
