Spamming cr L (by the way the game calls it L-M-H instead of A-B-C) IS gonna be very very common. Once Shehulk gets in I think she might be one of the most devastating characters in the game, she is seriously soooo good! Problem is that she has a hard time getting in in the first place. She really really needs a good cover assist. I think we’ll probably end up pairing Shehulk with just a couple different assists because she’s in such desperate need of help on her way in. Seriously though… she DESTROYS pushblock, it’s like not even an option against her. Once you get in, you are IN.
Now this excites me, looking forward to seeing some carnage with her. Would you by any chance be going to the fightclub? Would love to see a she-hulk player wrecking shop.
If the opponent pushblocks you have a basic and very damaging mixup: cr H then S if they try to jump (cr H slide trips them as they try to hold up, S launches into big damage combo), or H command grab (running command grab into dizzy into big damage combo). If you guess slide and they block, no big deal, seems like you’re safeish after S (or at least no one has punished it), although if you guess grab and they jump then you can definitely get punished.
you think if lei lei has her gong assist that might be optimum assist for she hulk?
I can’t wait to see her used with a good pressure assist like Chun Legs, Amy Coldstar or Thor Mighty Smash (which I’ll be using). One big question I have is that whether she can grab the opponent between the two hits of Mighty Smash on block. I wonder if block stun wears off fast enough after the first hit? Probably not, but I definitely intend to test it. Regardless it’ll be a great assist once she gets in.
I’m hoping Hulk’s Gamma Wave assist will give her decent cover to get in, since I plan on running She Hulk / Thor / Hulk. Otherwise I hope she’ll have some unconventional ways of getting around projectiles, like cr. C slide, torpedo, or the super armored Clothesline.
She-Hulk’s never really been one of my favorite Marvel characters, but I’m looking forward to playing as her, mainly because I loved El Fuerte so much.
i don’t really like her comparisons to fuerte just because she has walldive moves. honestly, their gameplay is hardly similar. she doesn’t have the midscreen overhead/throw mixup oki like fuerte, her “running” doesn’t work the same, her normals have a different utility, and her ground throw game is different. even if they had the same moveset, ssf4 and mvc3 are way different in terms of mechanics and flow and things don’t exactly translate well unless you’re viper or akuma. even then they got tweaked so that the ways they are competent based on the mvc3 engine are different from their ssf4 counterparts. just look at she-hulk as her own entity and run with it.
Well she definitely has more “throws” than El Fuerte. Hell for a grappler, El Fuerte is pretty weak. More of a pixie character than anything else. I think she has like what… two command throws? Ground and anti-air? That and the AA Hyper and level 3 car Hyper. BAH! You know how she plays like? A very fluid R.Mika from Alpha series.
Yea I think r.mika is a better comparison, but r.mika was always compared to fuerte so were right back were we started.
Well I’ll tell you what I’ve don… er, what I “would have been doing”… “in theory”. Imo she’s clearly good enough to be a legit point character, but she’s in definite need of a strong assist or assists that can cover her on her way in and can DHC to something safe if one of Shehulk’s supers doesn’t work.
So like, Doom rocks is a great assist that helps her move in while blowing up most other point/assist projectiles that can keep her back. She can use the rocks by running or dashing up behind them or by using them as a cover to jump onto the wall to move up to the opponent that way, or when she’s already close by using it to keep the pressure on (force the opponent to block rocks and then choose between ground grab super or antiair grab super = awesome). I haven’t messed with Dog cold star much, that could be real useful too.
And as for the safe DHC character, there are probably lots of options that I haven’t really explored, but I think Magneto is a good choice. If Shulk whiffs a grab super or antiair grab super she’s really punishable, but instead you can see that it didn’t work and then DHC to one of Magneto’s supers to be safe. Mags beam assist also gives you cover to move forward and to quickly hit the opponent from far screen, since he comes out fast enough and the beam moves fast enough to knock some characters out of their own projectiles. But there are probably other good options for safe DHC and useful assist characters. Yeah, Ammy with full screen elements or slowdown super plus cold star assist could be one of them, although I don’t think I really need both Doom rocks and cold star. We’ll just have to see after we all get to experiment.
Something else we’ll have to test once we get the game that I just thought of is calling a good stay-still assist like Doom rocks or Dog star is calling assist at the exact time you start a Shehulk super grab. If the grab works, that’s great, the assist will come out just a little after the grab starts and won’t be able to interrupt anything. If the grab doesn’t work, then ok, the assist comes out just after Shehulk loses invincibility to protect her on whiff. Unfortunately this won’t work when forcing a mixup after they block an assist because the assist won’t be ready yet, but outside of that situation this could be a safe way to escape punishment without having to DHC. Hope it works.
Oh yeah and about Fuerte comparisons… I don’t think they’re similar at all. Her run and wall jumps work very very differently. Obviously I’ve only played a couple times (and you can see most of my experience in the vids from CES that were on the front page), but I haven’t found great uses for run outside of combos yet and I haven’t found wall jump very useful unless I have an assist to cover my move to the wall.
This pretty much sums it up.
Yea im definitely thinking bout pairing she-hulk with dog-star and maybe chris-projectile. Think it might work well together.
would you be able to cancel her super armored clothesline after first hit? then that way to get in you just run stop then your in?
Turns out she-hulk can combo into her drop kick super from her sweep Marvel vs. Capcom 3 stream archive from Top Tier Gaming : News : EventHubs.com at about 40 minutes in you see it.
This was the team I was hoping to use come release. Cold Star seems to help most rushdown and elements have a lot of DHC potential, plus She-Hulk AAA to cover Chris when he’s on point.
Yep, seems like the team might have a decent amount of synergy, looking forward to release.
I wish she had a fake wall jump to bait shit like Guy’s down+strong.
Once she gets to the wall, you CAN fake the rest of the jump and fall straight down with no attack by pressing S.
Could Shulkie benefit from Felicia’s cat spike to create unblockables with torpedo?
Why didn’t the rest of the Hyper work?
