but didn’t ieyasu tokugawa die last season? they showed the sengoku basara 3 / samurai heroes version in this ep. I’m thoroughly confused.
Ieyasu supposedly died…all they showed was his spear and helmet.

I swear he died in the first season. he had this tearful goodbye speech to tadakatsu and stuff. maybe my memory has gone crazy.

Yeah they just gave Ieyasu a cameo in episode 10 looking closer to his SB3 rendition. They haven’t explained how he’s back just yet and who knows they might not. He just has to be ‘alive’ so we can go play 3 without any headaches. Kind of like season 2 already hinted at possibilities how Nobunaga can return, who is also in 3.

so who’s all playing basara 3 atm? i just picked it back up after a week of not playing and decided to give tokugawa another shot since the last time i tried to use him i just wasn’t feeling his play style and i must say that i’m pleased. he’s got a lot of stuff i just didn’t think to try and i’m pretty sure maxing all his shit helped make him feel more complete. i still prefer mutsihide over little big dude (tokugawa), but i’m not sure if it will stay that way since i seem to pick new cancels (or other stuff i previously didn’t think to try out) up with little big dude every time i start a new game.
still, saika magoichi is so good… i’d say she’s probably the best character in the game and if not she’s #2 to nobunaga.
I still am. I have well over 100 hours on it and I’m like maybe 65% done with what I WANT to do. And yeah I felt the same way about Sanada. I really like his character and I wanted to like playing him but I just couldn’t get into it. I stuck it out though and now they I get him better I like him alot. He’s still hard to control though.
IMO Oichi/Saika/Shimazu are easily the most broken. Oichi with gold dragon items is unstoppable and she never has to even be near the enemy so there’s no risk of losing the powerup from the dragon items. Shimazu has a one hit kill on every single enemy in the game and all you need to do to land it is land a parry lol
So I take it the game’s out now? Better finish paying it off now.

yukimura is good if you use that 2nd r2 move, whatever the flaming charge punch is - that shit is so good. once you have all 4 of his personalized items though it’s fun to mess around with the 3rd r2 mode because it stays with you the entire time as his item bonus.
i hated on mutsunari a lot, then i played as him and discovered the error of my ways. dude is just beast with the dash attacks that cancel into his L1+triangle. L1+triangle is so good but the startup time kinda sucks, so being able to cancel pretty much anything into it is a great bonus.
also, if you haven’t already unlocked NOBE (i can’t help but call nobunaga NOBE because ERRBODY gets raped) you should do that. same with saika, her homing missile regular gun shots are BROKEN. first play with them equipped resulted in me getting a 60k combo. i mean, even without that crazy shit equipped i had already got the achievement for not being hit once during battle lol.
edit: oichi is awesome, but dat nobe is much better than her imo. 100% agree on saika. shimazu is awesome (big dude player for life), but i was pissed when i found out his shit just doesn’t level up. i still need to max him out and show all my friends who have played it that they are doing it wrong.
speaking of painful things to see, i sat and watched one dude who was trying the game out, he picked tokugawa so naturally i was like, DO THE HEADBUTT! but mother fucker wouldn’t use it… i mean ffs, his headbutt is the bread and butter to victory. one shotting the guard tower guys and if you get into an exchange (with boss), once you win that just charge up headbut twice on regular/medium difficulty, maybe three times on hard possibly four if you aren’t using 6x gold atk boost items (referred to as gold lightan lol).
also, maxed mutsunari grab r2 with full attack power up = 2-3 grab death to bosses on highest difficulty. run up, l2, grab. hilarious.
edit: jesus i had no idea i typed that much lol.
edit2: re:oichi (or any anyone else with dark element weapons) will regen her health via those procs of elemental damage. so her, mutsunari, and NOBE are all grimey as fuck with stacked gold dragons.
edit3: oh yeah and if you’ve not already done so, get hattori hanzo so you can see that purple stat guy who spawns on various maps and if you kill him, you get a perma boost in either luck, attack, or def. shit is baller.

I use Yukimura’s 3rd R2 all the time now. If you keep tapping square while it charges up, you can increase the duration by two levels which makes it last a good long time. Took me a while to figure that out so maybe you don’t know about it yet. Great thing about that move is it doesn’t just increase his attack, but his defense too AND he is always in run mode.
And yeah Mitsunari is good, but IMO I hate how AMAZINGLY good he is. Once you figure him out he’s not that hard to play and he gets huge combos extremely easily and has really high damage to go with it. There is no reason in hell L1+T should have THAT high of a hitcount with that level of power.
Yes I have everyone, Oda is hella strong sure, but he doesn’t own people without even needing to be near them or kill anyone in literally one hit. I stand by my previously stated top tiers. I really don’t see how Oichi is not better than him when she can attack while guarding, while running, without even being near an enemy and NEVER has to EVER put herself in danger.
You know the fully charged headbutt string trick with Ieyasu right? Press R2, then let go and hold R1 while mashing square. Does fully charged headbutts at uncharged speed.
Yeah I have hanzo too but I don’t really like using him. I’m playing hard without stat boosts for the characters I like first. If I feel like it I’ll get the stat items later.
