I see why Kenshin is a NPC now. He sounds like a fucking witch. Ewww. Devil Kings dub was good imo.

How many skills are they letting us equip now, 3? To have 4 slots would be so great, and i don’t think it would break characters or lessen challenge at all. If anything, it’d make the game more complex for me. All the possibilities…

Yeah, looks like she’s going to encounter Yukimura from that preview of ep 4.

Otherwise, the clash between Toshiie and Keiji was pretty well done; insert music wasn’t that bad either. Also Hideyoshi and Masamune clash again; suppose Masamune wouldn’t win it this time again.

Also random how they got to introduce Naoe only to get trounced by Toshiie in seconds.

Holy shit, he has a Nero style “Devil Trigger” in the latter half of that vid. I don’t mean the Basara, but later on there are times where there’s like this shadow that attacks with him.

HA! Don’t know much about the actual games but the anime has already laid out an excuse for Nobunaga’s return. He can use Oichi as a gateway or something like that. :looney: Now all they got to do is hint at Ieyasu coming back and we are ready to play part 3!!! Or at least I’ll be ready sine I haven’t played 1 & 2 and just getting most of my info from the anime…

The new intro song has grown on me. I caught myself singing that crap in the shower. :wonder: GREATEST VIDEO GAME BASED TV ANIME EVER!!! :rock:

From what I’ve heard and seen(like 3-4 eps of the first season) the story is actually a bit different. not sure though

Hmm. With NPCs playable on the Wii I’m wondering if I should switch my PS3 reserve since I have both systems. Nah I’ll probably stick to PS3.

WOOOOO! Just got my copy in!

Wii playable NPCs are hacks. Even if you finish a level with them the game freezes.

Game is very fun, even though it does have “Obvious Beta” (thank you, TVTropes…) written all over it. None of the nice extra modes from the last few games return, and even when you play as the NPCs themselves, their Clan Crests are clearly visible, showcasing that they were probably meant to be playable, but KobaP and dem ran out of time. Too bad…hopefully the expansion pack will deliver.

Any way, the other interesting note is that the PS3 version is basically spanking the Wii version by practically 5:1 ratio (with the PS3 version being the number one seller for the last week, no less). When even the majority of the fujoshi/fangirls want to go HD, Koba and Capcom’s path should be clear, going forward…

Sengoku Basara 3 is topping Japan’s sale charts! The PS3 version is outselling the Wii version but combined it is doing very well. :clapdos:

His specials don’t has as much recovery as they seem. For ease of explanation, lets consider the 4 permanent skills, in order, as SP1-4, and the R2 skills as SP5-7. Oh also, for the airdash, the first part where he spins forward actually is an attack, the second part where he’s just dashing can be canceled into a shuriken toss by pressing square. The shuriken will actually lift the enemy up and toward you so after hitting an enemy with it, just do the air combo immediately after

For SP1 it should be pretty obvious that this is a juggling move, just air combo or airdash afterward

SP2 seems like it has alot of recovery, but you can dash cancel it so that it recovers instantly after the big slash at the end. Make sure you double tap and hold the dash anytime BEFORE the final slash.

SP3 recovers in the air, so that means you can airdash, air combo, or use another air special right after it. Thing is this move knocks them really far away so it’s difficult to follow up with if you’re not using SP6, if you do have that equipped, just throw that out right after, then airdash>shuriken toward them and continue the combo. By mixing up your options with SP3, SP6, airdash, and air combo you can actually stay in the air indefinitely as long as there are enemies nearby. If you are NOT using SP6, the only followup I’ve found so far is using the airdash, but you have to time it correctly so you hit them as they fall. Doing it right away will miss, and too late will drop the combo. If I’m not using SP6, I try to avoid using SP3 unless I’m near a wall

SP4 also recovers in the air, but they aren’t as far away when the counter finishes so you can combo after it with just the standard airdash>shuriken

SP5 I haven’t used much, it’s incredibly strong, but comboing it is difficult. Worth noting that the air version does recover in the air though.

SP6 is amazing. From the ground it starts slow but recovers in the air so you can actually throw two in a row. In the air the start up is very fast, and you can follow it up however you like. Additionally, from the air, you can throw it diagonally downward by HOLDING R2 instead of just tapping it, very important to keep in mind.

SP7 is great for non-heavy bosses as SP1 hold, SP7 always combos and the total damage form that is great. start up on the ground is slow, but it hits a group of enemies so it can be useful to start a combo vs normal types. Air version starts much faster but still takes a bit of time. Both versions recover somewhat slow, but you CAN combo after ward with your regular string.

Some notes about his normal attacks, and his air tri. stomp: If you didn’t already know, holding square makes him do an uppercut and if you continue tapping square immediately after, he’ll do a different aircombo(additionally, if you wait for just a moment, you can opt to do the normal aircombo if you prefer). This aircombo does more hits and generally can hit a larger group, but it is also weaker so some bosses tend to get dropped by it. Good remedy for that, is to equip the locust item as it increases damage done in the air.

For his air stomp attack, it’s actually jump cancelable right as he touches the ground, this is really awesome as the height they get launched puts them at a perfect height to do another air combo. Also, since you can JC it, it’s great for armored enemies that don’t get stunned like the heavy units and the tigers. Just [stomp, JC] x N until they die. SP1 is also a really good followup after a non-JCd stomp

Edit: Hahah, I just learned something new about SP5, if you hold R2 the whole time, he’ll teleport to the circle just like with Ishida’s moves.

does he talk like that in the games too?
