toker, I’m not talking about the big Saturn pads. Look at the links. I’m talking about how there’s TWO Japanese style Saturn controllers with different dpads. One is a standard looking dpad that you see on most controllers, while one is circular with grooves in it. I don’t see how the version 2 (Japanese) pads are better because the dpad is just like most other dpads, whereas this one has notches and is circular which allows for easier 360s and QCF motions.

I’m talking about this one .

Not this one:

Are there any pics of the new pad? I thought the new pads were going to be re-skins.

Yes, they are talking about the same pad as you. That top photo is the US controller. No it’s not huge, but it’s bigger than the other one. That bottom one is the Saturn 3D controller.

Heh, this was said before the Mad Catz pads (or the TE) were released. I wouldn’t recommend the Mad Catz pads unless you want to crack them open due to the diagonals being iffy.

The first controller you posted is the U.S. controller. I personally didn’t like the notches in the U.S. D-Pad. The shoulder buttons were also too flimsy for me. The Japanese controllers were also circular, and it felt better than the U.S. D-Pad.

Japanese Saturn Controller

Genesis (3 button pad and the six button one without turbo) and the japanese/us model 2 Saturn pad are the best pads ever. I actually like the genesis 3 button pad the most for games that don’t use six buttons as it’s bulkier.
