Big thanks to Super Joe for running to let me know my matches, so that I could sit in comfort at the bar area instead of the hot armpit that was the conference room.
Big ups to “shaka”? I lost to you first game, you got top 5 I think and you’re new to the scene, that’s impressive!
I achieved my goal of beating my last top 9 last time tonight, I want top 5 in marvel 3 next time…
I hope all the new people bought drinks/food, because that is what hard working peeps like Mike depend on for future events. Awesome turn out even though I ended up there hella late again lol.
I’m still pretty salty/on edge about being backed into on 6th Ave and having my license plate ripped off. I wish I would’ve thought to pull over and check so I could have grabbed it. I went back anyways but didn’t see it before getting lost trying to get on the freeway. 
Luckily the damage is a small dent in the hood that can probably be buffed out and doesn’t mess with the catch, and 3 scratches in the paint (looks like mini Felicia attacked my car).
Other then that though the tournament was awesome and I had a lot of fun. Everyone I met and talked to were great and friendly. Plus the food and service was really good. Special thanks to Riki-Oh, spammerdojo, DaveO, and Jeff for letting me borrow their sticks. And thanks to Matt, Oliver, and Deezo for the matches, and Riki-Oh again and Mike for a bit of casuals.

Holy Shit! Ridiculous turnout last night. We had 64 people enter between both touraments. That doesn’t even include the people just hanging out and watching. Just a couple of notes:
-BIG shoutouts to Super Joe, Eric, Heavy D, Derrick and everyone else who helped me setup/run matches/etc. No way I could have done it without you guys.
-The room was not prepared for the number of people we stuffed in. For next time, we’re going to see about re-organizing the tables, or getting a bigger space. Also, MORE SETUPS.
-It was crazy to see so many new faces at this event. I hope you all had a good time, and come out to more stuff in the future.
-I have a couple of things that were left behind at the venue. Julian, I’ve got your 360 at my place. It also has the breakaway cable for the power brick, which I know you forgot. So if someone is missing that cable, I’ve got it. I also picked up a USB wristband. If this stuff is yours, please PM me so I can get it back to you.

Great event Mike, I really like the venue for the most part. My only complaint is the time it took to get orders of food/drinks but it wasn’t too terrible.

I saw Elias use Sentinel yesterday early on. If he didn’t in later of the game there was still 4 sents out of top 8. Good shit to all I played.
Thanks to MHC and Super Joe for running brackets. I hope we can keep doing events at this venue.
Just a simple suggestion to really help out next time: It SUCKED trying to maneuver around the conference room, but the layout of the tables could be MUCH improved. In the middle there was all this wasted space, because the table had a “U” shaped layout. The table by the door that was the bottom of the “U” that didn’t have any setups… if it was moved against the wall people could still set drinks and food there, and then if the power cords were tucked under the tables so people wouldn’t step on them accidentally, you could easily go from one side of the room to the other by crossing the aisle inbetween the two rows.
The alternative would be smooshing the rows of tables a little closer, because there was NOT enough room behind the players for someone to move, because you were constantly rubbing against the spectators, which was KINDA awkward. :razzy: The space in the middle of the room was wasted space.
Also if more people would go to the bar area and chill out and wait for an announcement of their matches, the conference room would be less crowded, stank, and hot. And I bet the venue would make more money too. Just a thought.
^This. Re-arranging the tables is one possible improvement for the next event. I originally didn’t think it would be an issue, but I had no idea we would get that many people.
Also, Jason Nelson (xrolento) is missing the breakaway cable for his stick. If you picked up an extra one, it’s probably his, do please get in contact with him.

Nope. I didn’t use sentinel at all. Perhaps I was playing on the 2p side of the screen while sitting on the 1p side or something.
I had a lot of teams. I think I used Chris/Spencer/Doom in every set at some point though so you can put that in the results if you want. Gotta get Chris representation~
ATTENTION ANY NEW PLAYERS IN THE SCENE:
Please, for fuck’s sake, PLEASE be courteous and aware of your surroundings. People were constantly bumping into me and pushing me around while I was trying to play SF4. Like, it’s okay if someone touches me lightly while passing me by but these people were straight up smacking into me, pushing my head forward, and otherwise just not fucking paying any attention. I know it may not have crossed anyone’s mind but PLEASE FUCKING PAY ATTENTION. If you can’t squeeze past without disturbing a player WAIT UNTIL A ROUND IS OVER TO GO PAST. Common courtesy please.
