If I do show up Mike it will be to help you run the tournament (if you needed some extra help that is), and to eat some more good food!! I will lick my jaded wounds of this game until Capcom patches this shit. Until then I can at least help those who do enjoy playing at a competitive level with running brackets or whatnot.
Thanks Jesse. Any help I can get will be greatly appreciated.
Also, we still need people to provide setups for the tournament. For us to get through both games in a decent amount of time, we will need at least 6 stations. Again, I will waive entry fees for 1 game if you can provide a console and a monitor.
Wow I’m definitely interested in going to this, its only a few miles away from school. The only thing is this is my first fighting game I’ve every played seriously (real casual play of SF4 and SSF4) so I don’t have a stick and have instead just been playing on my 360 controller. I’ve also only used a stick a couple of times so its not like I could show up and borrow someone’s stick because all that would result in is me getting my butt handed to me.
You can use your own 360 pad if you want, but you would have to bring it and if you aren’t playing you probably want to take the battery out completely to ensure it doesn’t mess with the system or something while others are playing. Though at most tournaments they only allow wired controllers, I’ve found that using the play and charge pack but taking the battery off has a similar effect.
Pads are fine. I’d ask that you bring a wired one if you have it, since syncing wireless controllers always creates problems. If you don’t have one, I can bring my play and charge kit and we can do what FuriousJodo suggested.
Its okay, I only use wired controllers anyways. I just feel it would be weird if I were the only one with a 360 pad and not a stick. Any guesses on when it would end? I’d have to take the bus back to school and with it being the weekend and the fact that I hardly ever take the bus I’m not sure how late they run
People may give you a bit of crap about it, but if you’re good on a pad play on a pad. If yuou come out to more events you can try out sticks and try to get used to it but it isn’t a quick process. My brother still uses 360 pads whenever he shows up and I don’t think he gets too much crap anymore.
So I plan on coming to this event barring any fuck ups from life, so if anyone needs a ride up there or just wants to carpool I’ve got 3 seats. My plan is to go through Spanaway, but I can make some detours if it isn’t too far out of the way, and I can go the Lacey route instead to just hit the freeway if that is where anyone is at.
Yay for a 120 mile drive (there and back) to get bodied! Even so, the menu choices look awesome and are fantastic deals, definitely going to have to chow it up a bit. The bar drinks are a great deal too, but since I’m driving.
