Whoever would be running the arcade would be running it at a huge loss. Something like Keystone, though, is a bit different…
For whoever runs and operates it? Not at all.
For us though?! Hell yeas.

How would it be bad for who owns it?
arcades don’t make money. there is a reason why there used to be arcade all over the nation and now you only see them in specific towns. you want to put an arcade in sac, were gamers don’t even go to houses to play for free? good luck.
Truth hurts:sad::sad::sad:

Really? damn. Gotta get rid of that mentality.
Haha actually, I didn’t mean to point out that typo and completely change the meaning, but nice reversal
Then guys gotta come out. We have sessions every now and then in Sac, but when it’s the same people over and over, the player base will never grow - stagnation sucks

seriously that is true i wont even drive to my friends house in del paso to play.
**This is one reason why Sacramento is poorly represented in NorCal~

well in all fairness they suck hard like im talking its like they think there god tier and it seems like they just started.
Truth.
They won’t get any better just playing themselves. Level them up.
You really wanna open an arcade? Turn your pad into Sac’s version of Keystone and ask for a small donation to keep things running. Will work wonders.

they wont ever…i played a few times and spamed overhead smashes and they fell for it everytime. they dont understand how to block a cross up attack. i try to teach them what little i know but they dont listen. when i introduced them to the overhead smash+ c.lk+ headbutt + ultra, it was like i created fire and showed it to cave men.

Because people don’t want to actually do something?
I want to be a part of the community, but whenever something’s going on I can’t make it. But I definitely know I want to play against other people in fighting games.
So, what is the real problem, people? Let’s talk about it and find some answers.
if there was an arcade, it would have to be some sort of business besides that… like batting cages and go carts n shit… golf or maybe even a coffee shop . some sort of biz besides just plane arcade. You can make money fast and keep it going with just trying to make money off games.
need somethign else… like pool hall / arcade would be sick
Well we can’t really say anything bout gatherings like that because most of the gatherings that I’ve seen been hosted were pretty last minute/on a whim. A lot of people don’t have cars or means of transportation to get to these last minute/random gatherings. I mean, going to one means you actually have to have time to FIND the place (i’m so fuckin serious, i get lost EVERYTIME when lookin for ANYTHING). On top of that, if you want to attend while taking public transportation, sometimes it ain’t gonna happen cuz of the amount of time it takes to get to your destination using the public transportation system (or the times in which they are available aren’t that late, or you don’t want to get jumped on your way home).
EDIT: On top of this issue, some people only play ONE fucking game. I mean, leveling up is serious business, but we gotta open ourselves up to all the shit that’s out there. Expand your horizon a bit. It’s kewl to get serious on one game, but damn, gotta open up for some variety. This could draw people in. Irvine’s gatherings were pretty tight cuz we’d have SFIV going on two t.v.'s and then one random ass game at the end (literally coulda been anything from MVC2 to Battle Fantasia).
My specific issue is my weekend schedule where I’m pretty much permanently banned from any kind of social event on weekends due to my work schedule.
As much opposition there is against an arcade, I’d say fucking do that shit. I was planning on doing this thing myself (with a friend, tbh). I know shit is kinda whack right now, ESPECIALLY the way economy been going, but the idea of having something on the side (the real money maker) besides the arcade itself would be great. Have a restaurant/arcade/pool hall kinda thing going on. That shit would be tight, and have tournaments all the god damn time to draw people in. I would go to Davis more if I didn’t worry about getting mugged walking through G-Parkway/Mack Road at night if I overstayed it at the MUGA.

Even going to local tournaments for $$$ has turned for worse… No offense to sac players, but skill base is pretty bad, no dedicated players who are willing to learn.
I love sf4 with a passion, but there just isn’t any reason to go out of my way to play nowadays. I’m not learning much, and there isn’t enough competition to make it worth an effort. I’d love to get my ass handed to me for free so I can learn match-ups and the like. My favorite spot to play near here is UCDavis MU and even the good Davis players don’t even go there for some reason (don’t want to spend money to play?).
shrug
might sound like I’m being an arrogant asshole, but I’m just keeping it real. :wasted:

basically just described scandia.
in all honestly playing video games for me isnt a as high of a priority as id like. as im sure it is for most other people. if i have to choose between playing SFIV or going out with friends…ill choose going out. hell ive still got all the sanwa buttons, template, and other stuff to mod my fightstick just sitting on my desk.
seriously i get that, i mean last minute is cutting it close. if it helps any if this tournament goes well this could be monthly or better.
Ya’ll are just a bunch of lazy fucks. I drive from yuba city sometimes multiple times a week, just to get in decent matches. PROVE ME WRONG SAC
