That sounds great. I’m trying to do a similar thing on Saturdays here in Elk Grove but life keeps getting in the way. Just got back from a cross-country trip, caught a cold, and a joystick just broke on one of my sticks… I feel like I’m living an SRK country song.

Any way, anything that runs late on a Saturday I can make. I have a 30" CRT that I can lug out to anywhere it’s needed.

If I ditch these sniffles then maybe I can make it out to a session tonight if one is going.

starts at 8 and can go till the wee hours of the morning since it’s my weekend. I usually crash at about midnight, but again since it’s the weekend I wanna stay up late. you want me to msg you my address? so is it going to be 3 of you then?

also for everyone interested in coming but can’t make it on a monday because of work reasons etc, I am flexible with changing the day. We can totally do a weekend if you guys don’t mind starting at 10 since that’s when I get off work. so I guess more like 10:15 with time for me to get home. anyway for now I’m keeping it for mondays at 8 unless someone requests a different day. right now I have 2 office chairs, 4 kitchen table chairs, a stool and an arcade stool. However, I did just tattoo a client who has a couch he’s trying to get rid of and he’ll give it to me for free, so hopefully soon we will have a more comfy situation. it’s a 3 people couch and a single person couch thing…whatever you call those.
EDIT couch is a go, my father in law and I should be picking it up tomorrow morning.

also thanks for the heads up shiryu. I think you are talking about my 42". I have never noticed a lag problem with it, but then again I’m pretty sure I’m not half as good as you so that may be why I haven’t noticed. In the end I have 3 different tvs one of them a monitor, we will figure it out. If anyone wants to bring their own screen if it makes you more comfortable, be my guest.

Putter, I’m willing to change the day to saturday if u don’t mind starting at 10, I also need more people to speak up for this change to see if it’s a possible thing. so let me know if you want it another day!

Romeo: Yupp thats me Uhh, there was no actual thread for it lol so there were no out of towners that showed up, but a couple pretty good players showed up. Grand Finals ended up being 3-2, without me dropping into losers. But my Yang vs. Bison match up is pretty horrid.

well my main game is marvel, I have always loved fighters, but I’m pretty much a borderline masher with any fighter other than marvel. I know very little ken on 3s but that’s probably gone as I don’t play it very much even though I love that game. bear with me man! =). I know I’m gonna learn some shit from you and everyone else, but this thing isn’t about just me learning to shed my scrubby ways from you guys, mainly I want to have a weekly little spot for people to come hang and play since I got the room. and it would be good for me to meet new people. I moved in this area 6 years ago but I never go out so I don’t know anyone.

hey what’s up guys. This is my first post. Been lurking the forums for a few years now though. Anyway I live in Citrus Heights, and have been looking everywhere for some sort of meetup situation in the sacramento/citrus heights/roseville area but to no avail till I found this thread. I’m looking for some individuals to practice with. I’m trying to set up some sort of weekly group thing at my house. So I’m 28 years old, live in citrus heights in the neighborhood next to old auburn road, across the street from the costco and walmart. I have an 18 month old daughter. why do I say that? Well because her bed time is at 8 so I couldn’t start it till then. Also because she’s a light sleeper, I play in the garage. The downside is that it gets a little warm in there but its not unbearable and some fans can fix that, plus at 8 it is starting to cool down. the upside is we have a buttload of room for people and we can be louder. I do enjoy fighters, but I’m nuts for MVC3 so I want to keep it primarily to that, but we can have multiple setups going at the same time so multiple games are a possibility.
I warn you, Im a total scrub but I want to get better and primarily want to practice with good people in a lag freen environment.
Here’s my hardware:
I play MVC3 on a ps3 (my username is mechajew) other fighters I have for ps3 MvC2, and SF2 Hd Remix.
I have 2 ps3 TEs and 2 controllers if you are of that perversion.
I also have a Wii for TvC if you want, but I have no sticks for it so it’s controller only for me unless you have a stick for it.
if you wanna play SSF4AE, if it’s for ps3 bring the game, if it’s for 360 bring the console too.
same goes for blaz blue. and any other fighter that’s not mvc2, mvc3, sf2hdremix…
The monitor I play it on is a puny 19" vizio but it’s not too bad when you are close up to it.( I totally wish I could bring my 42" out in the garage. I’ll talk to the wife and see if it’s an option)
I also have a 26" pc monitor with hdmi out that I can totally set up and runs at 1080p no problem. I can set up this one as the main and have a secondary setup with the 19".
I also have a mame cabinet built by me(and damn proud of it lol) with a LOT of stuff in it(lots and lots of fighters). I won’t get into details as it is probably considered illegal. if you want to see what I got in it just come over, or send me a message or email. I do have vanilla Sf4 on it, and am working on installing SSF4AE on it but the hardware is old and it doens’t like the game. the monitor in it is also 19"; the upside is it’s an old school 4:3 ratio, and totally playable. since this was my first build the buttonlayout is a tiny bit off. some people may not like it, same for the sticks. if you have a te (or a ps3 te 2nd gen and up) we can plug those into the cabinet and play it through that.
and finally, I am a full time tattoo artist so I often get trade requests (shameless plug http://www.thestudiotattoos.com and http://www.facebook.com/illustrationist I work at ‘The Studio’ in downtown Roseville). I got someone interested in doing tattoo trade for a 36" hdtv, and I’m probably going to take them up on the offer. I’ll keep you guys posted on that.

I’m really serious about this so please consider it…I know I know this is my first post so I’m not trustworthy because nobody knows me, but please believe me when I say I really want to do this. A weekly meetup for my area would be awesome and I have the room for it. Also if you are a boozer or a pot smoker I don’t judge just bring your shit with you. I might even match a bowl or two.
What I need from people who are potentially coming: I wrote what I have, so if we want to have multiple consoles, obviously bring your system of choice, and if you play with a stick I have an open Te, so it’s recommended you bring your own weapon of choice. Also bring your own libations. If you are thirsty I have water and usually pepsi, but if it goes fast my wife will get pissed and that might be out of the question. in other words I provide the place you bring whatever you wanna eat and drink.
oh and chairs! I have some chairs but I am not sure how many we may need.
I want to start small, and see where it goes from there. I don’t think I want the group to be more than like 10 people max, so if this takes off we will probably have to set up a way for people to rsvp. eventually I figured a facebook group page or some sort of private forum would be cool to schedule meetups and keep in touch or discuss matches or just simply talk trash. I want to start it right away, so Im thinking the first night will be this coming monday august 22 at 8 pm. I have to do it on monday because it’s my day off, and during work days I work until 10pm. We can do it on a weekend if you guys don’t mind starting at 10.
