Laurence is fucking fun to play as. Patriot Circle is a GOOD move. If you go from a poke string into Patriot Circle and the opponent is trying to jump away, Patriot Circle will juggle for full hits. It’s fast, as far as I could tell safe and easy as hell to hitconfirm.
His low forward is great, stand fierce is great, stand roundhouse is great… he’s just great. He’s a lot slower than in his past appearances and I think he’ll be very much like a Vega with hitconfirms, relying on his long reaching pokes and good normals to trap and frustrate the opponent into taking hits, which you can then easily and safely confirm into Patriot Circle.
crossing my fingers they don’t put hurt boxes on his normals with the baton so his pokes stay godlike

they may make his walk speed faster and his jump decent faster in later builds if they feel its something he should have~
from the small nitpick people had of him was that the apex of his knife throw was reduced, thus making his over all arcs of his knifes smaller. is it confirmed he can super jump in said title?
since patriot circle launches i wanted to know if you could jump cancel into a air string then finish the combo with whatever…even a super maybe?

Shut up. You posted Seth Killian’s old Rolento video and the same match video twice. I didn’t pounce all over you for those errors, because I understand an honest mistake. But now you’re being a dick.
When I said, “Why would you ever activate Pandora Mode against Rolento?” That was a comment ABOUT the videos and a compliment to Rolento. The guy is the master of running away and zoning. So you’re being a dick because I made a positive comment about a character I’m excited to see in this game.
As for the second video, Rolento didn’t do anything. My understanding is that when you post a Rolento video in a Rolento forum, the idea is to see Rolento doing stuff. In that match he did nothing, so there was no point to it.
i tried rolento out for the first time yesterday at the capcom event in san francisco.
he has great normals. jumping mp is boss. i didnt test out standing mk, but his crossup mk is really good. it has a different animation than the previous games though.
no scouter jump (d,u) (cvs2 KK) move in sight. :sad:
stinger is weird, you have to launch knives with the lp, mp, hp, you can’t launch it with kick buttons. ex stinger throws 3 knives at once.
d+mk in the air is the alpha 3/alpha 2 gold version. it makes him bounce afterwards. you can set up crossups with it just like before.
patriot circle (qcf+p) does good damage. not too sure is the first rep safe or semi safe on block. you can definitely fish for c.mk xx patriot circle. ex version is only the last rep of his regular patriot circle and you can juggle afterwards.
mekong wall jump (qcb+k) is completely different from the older games. rolento doesnt jump as high to the back wall. he jumps like at half the high and then jumps really low and fast towards your opponent if you hold forward. i was able to get jumping mk to cross up after the mekong jump, something i had trouble doing in the old games. not too sure, but i think the strength of the kick might dictate how high he jumps to the back wall. ex version, i’m not too sure what it does. i’m hoping for some sort of invincibility since he is lacking a gtfo of me move. there is no alpha counters in this game i think.
back roll (qcb+p) feels the same. ex one has the followup hit 3x. not too sure does it have invincibility tho.
trick landing (PPP, PP) i only tried the ex one. like someone said, its sonics spin dash move. it goes thru fireballs, not too sure is it safe on block, but you get pushed some distance away if blocked.
i didnt do his super or crossover assault since i didnt know the command at the time.
shouldnt he have ADDITIONAL normals along with everything else from alpha/cvs2. whatever…

I don’t know if it’s any good because the player won’t work for me.
Having watched it a while ago, the only things I can remember being new info is the ex back roll followup being the only version that goes through fireballs, and st.MP being a good anti-air.
I plan on adding that video to the OP when GR posts the video on youtube. (they posted Balrog’s video on youtube instead for whatever reason)
