I really love how you have pictures showing the ranges on her various attacks. That’s some great stuff. I wonder how much it would cost to print out a high quality version of this (hardbound, uber-quality paper, ect)?
I’ve played AE for all of about ten hours total probably, but Makoto is definitely my favorite character in the game. As a super duper newbie, I gotta say, this is the best guide I’ve pretty much ever seen. The organization, explanations, pictures and everything are just great.
Amazing work Blackadde! A few things I noticed that were missing. FADC after HP.hayate is viable in AE. Not only can you combo into LP… but you can reset with karakusa or s.MP frame trap. f.HK corpse hop didn’t seem to make an appearance (crucial against charge characters.) Also maybe the kara karakusas (blockakusa, f.lk, s.lk) should be given their own section. Setups for these are crucial. I personally think blockakusa is her strongest tool. It gives us a one frame grab mid block string.
I agree with everything, except the FADC-after-HP-Hayate being “viable”. I never get the s.LP link in-match, ever. And I think it’s too much of a gamble to use 2 ex-bars to try to reset or frame-trap the opponent; most opponents mash jab, mash grab, or mash reversal after they see FADC->forward dash.
sorry man. i got a lot of bad stuff going on in my personal life i have to attend to. plus, i have to wait till v2012 to really flesh out the remaining portions.
I tried to download but when it stopped after the title page. It didn’t happened the first time either. Does it has something to do with Adobe or my server itself?
I’d like to add to the Guy section that you can OS block his Run tactics. Hold down-back, then back, you won’t get hit either way because the overhead is so much slower than the slide.
I was thinking about picking up makoto today, and I stumbled upon this. This is possibly the best guide for a character I’ve ever seen in my life, i wish every character in the game had a bible…
Don’t forget 632146HP karakarakusa. It increases the range just barely enough to grab characters immediately after HP Hayate, without the delay of other karas.
