I wonder what the ghostwriting market is like these days for rap. It seems so braindead that I’m curious why anyone would need one. At this point in his career - Puffy has been rhyming long enough that he shoudln’t even need help (though I know he gets it still). I mean how is skillz eating? His one-two shows here and there can’t be enough to live off of, I figure he’s stil lgetting ‘some’ kick back from certain songs…but the way in the industry has been…hmmm rubs chin

Aside from this, Nicki generally declines to make any specific case for why Kim sucks. But that’s because Nicki is not trying to convince us rationally that she’s right. Instead, she just yells “stupid hoe” over and over, for three and a half minutes, in different voices, with different beats, in different outfits. And it works. The point she’s making isn’t (just) that Kim sucks; it’s that Nicki Minaj is so much better it’s irrelevant. That Nicki was able to make her case without any actual concrete evidence is so much more convincing than a strained-brow expression of “Batman could beat Superman in a fight”-type superiority would be. As good a lyricist as Nicki is, she’s also frighteningly good at communicating through tone, through timbre, through visuals, and through style. Like a great Jimmy Page guitar solo, even if there aren’t words, you get the point.

As the double-dutch you see being played at the beginning of the video makes clear, “Stupid Hoe” is very much supposed to be bratty and adolescent, the equivalent of coming into a Lincoln-Douglas debate and, when it’s your turn to respond, pelting everyone with eggs and running out of the room in search of something more fun to do. But within this mode, it’s not angry. Instead, it’s cuttingly comedic without ever breaking character. I’m 99% sure Nicki lovingly imitates Joan Rivers at one point (compare her expression and hair at 0:50 to Joan non-lovingly imitating a starlet) but you never think “oh, that’s Nicki Minaj telling us she’s imitating Joan Rivers.” Her style is so overwhelming (represented here by the seizure-inducing jump cuts that match the energy of the music perfectly) that it conquers the senses and opens you up to these different modes of expression.

i don’t even really care about “general consensus” on nicki vs. kim…but you’re a stupid hoe for making this post.

thats cause your an ARTIST… let me repeat… YOUR AN ARTIST. you can see a shift in atmosphere in the [S]Dope[/S] Rap Game. Now think of it AS A ARTIST… if everyone has shifted to a ‘effortless’ style of writing an hooks/lyrics…how do you write that??? How do you contend?? If your a WRITER (true to form) it becomes even easier for them cause those that are stuck on a format/tunnel vision can shift their style… not a lot can make it work and you will be surprised.

Triple H is (sadly) still wrestling sometimes. He’s almost as exclusive as Undertake these days though haha. He’s facing 'Taker at Wrestlemania again, and The Rock is wrestling at Wrestlemania too. Stone Cold MIGHT come back and face CM Punk at some point. Kurt Angle wrestles in TNA, but TNA is terrible so that sucks for him.

Hell yeah the young guys in WWE now are actually pretty great. CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, Dolph Ziggler, Cody Rhodes, Wade Barrett, Jack Swagger, Sheamus, Alberto Del Rio, Evan Bourne, Justin Gabriel, Zack Ryder, Drew McIntyre, and others. Not to mention that Chris Jericho and Christian are still there and still great, and peeps like Kane, Mark Henry, Big Show, William Regal, and even The Miz are entertaining and doing pretty well. Most of the problems and mediocrity in WWE these days just comes from how they write their shit, cuz they got the talent to put on the best shows ever.

ANYWAY, to get back on the topic of rap… I didn’t know Flair was on an album lol that’s hilarious, I’ma peep that now. And fuck Drake.
