the only thing holding dipset back from what it should have been was personal beef within the roc. they were clearly putting out the best music and the most consistent music on the roc at the time.
d block was held back due to not being marketable at all…as much as i fuck with them it is what it is.
dipset’s drive/hunger hasn’t been seen since or matched since g unit stopped dropping all those tapes.
and the diplomats tapes had banger after banger. the only thing you could say about the d block tapes was how nice some of the bars were…but bangers? na.
i could def go on and on about it so i’ma chill until someone else posts their pov.
Most people do year end top albums and albums of the year, I never do that.
I will now.
Album of the Year for 2010.
Corinne Bailey Rae- The Sea
Album of the Year for 2011
Kendrick Lamar- Section .80
I listen to so much music I really can’t pick a top five for a year
Arabb’s EP was dope
Black Milk’s follow up LP Album of the Year was nice.
Marsha’s Debut was fire.
Phonte did his thing.
Gibbs CDIH is that piff.
that’s really all I can think of atm.
common was aight, Finding Forever was better imo.
Full price expensive hahaha…though I’m irritated trying to track down the ‘Dwellas’ (Formerly Cella Dwellas) first and second albums. I had their first on casette but its gone at this point. Never heard more than a single song off their second joit - “Ill Collabo” feat Pharoahe Monch. Dudes were nice, but I can’t even find a download for it let alone buy it legitamately. And spending $30+ is not legitamate…
Debs, I think what stood out to me - you sorta hit on…when it came ot bangers, Dips - no question…but The Lox had BARS, not only did they have bars, but they had albums that were just ‘the shit’…not in a bang like bangers kinda way…but I mean Gangsta/Gentlemen for example - it was truly quality music that ten years later is still piff. I’m not sure how much I can say that for Dips (Purple Haze was still Piff though). BTW I’m not saying either or, just sorta curious…both crews are essentially shadows of their former selves, with D-Block never getting past Lox solo albums (not even a group effort), and Dips…I’m not sure the last REAL album they had…(though Jim Jones latest mixtape - Vampire Life - is REALLY REALLY good…and if it had a single or two on it would be album worthy).
HAHAHA, his boys need to come home from college and go shoppin with him to set him straight. I know some of it is ‘fuck it I’m Michael Jordan’…but that shit only flies during award shows…
short, like they are more of a person than you.
you have to take on the responsibilities of some1 else day one/ throw money at them (normal issues) and their kids (entitlement issues)
if you’ve talked to 1, you should know. Beyond the I have a kid and can’t do stuff from x hour to x hour.
all women are whores anyways especially on their days off from being whores
g-unit is better and has a better catalog
the other two fall behind!
they both put out a lot of mixtapes (not sure on albums) and have a lot of music but they have a distinct take on gangster rap
lol I never noticed this until now. I guess confidence can make shit work… kinda…
Andre 3000 amazes me because he can do the whole 70s throwback/ horse jockey/ music man/ tom sawyer look without looking like a complete tool. Same with the Camp lo cats:
ll admit that those jeans arent a good look but on the real I would rather see a rich guy dressing like a bum whom just dont give a fuck than a broke nigga “faking it til he make it”
And from them pictures MJ don’t give a FUCK. Not one hot shit, son. I thought my fashion sense was bad. Apparently, every dollar Jordan made cost 1 million fucks. At the end, he’s just not going to give them out, I guess.
Ok so my Aunt called me day before yesterday, said she had a question, call her back the next day, so I did.
Aunt: Hey Kevin, did you get your mail forwarded to your new house.
Me: Mine, but moms is sent to nanny’s house(mom’s blood sister who’s the lawyer.)
Aunt:Alright, well I need to call her, I’m going to file your moms taxes for 2011, put you as her dependent and I’ll give the return to you.O_o
Me:ok
Aunt:tell your dad don’t claim you as a dependent.
Me:ok
she’s a tax preparer for H&R block, has been for 17 years, it’s her seasonal job.
so I call my dad about it, he said don’t get involved before I end up owing the IRS money I don’t have.
This shit sounds iffy to me, So I sent her a text saying don’t put me on it, just file it for her, and if you get a return, pay her debt.
She then texted me back saying that my mom took care of me, if she doesn’t put me as a dependent my mom will owe taxes.
Can you adults who have experience with taxes and all this tell me if your debt once you are decease still valid? or does it die with you?
shit just sounds all kinds of crooked and some under the table type shit that could = prison for her and me being fucked. I’m not agreeing to shit, I’ll take my dad’s advice before theirs.
