Hey its the Iron Chef guy! The Outer World version…

Mark on the fashion world, fuck that. Sean John was worth like 300 mill at one point and made up for like 95% of Puffy’s net worth. RocAWear AFTER its hey day was sold by Jay-Z for 200 mill, and he got to maintain control. Don’ let the name fool you - the end game is MONEY, and outsife od Wu-Wear the three Ace posted made LOTS of money. Wu-wear…meh…it was a dope song.

  • :bluu:

well he drops 3 albums a month so it wil lbe tough to circumnavigate his catalog. But in all honesty my top 3 Troy albums
#1 - Face Off - its both a classic and a well rounded effort
#2 - Tool Musiq - prolly the highest quality effort from PT Cruiser IMO. Not as entertaining long run as Face Off, but the energey especcially early on is undeniable
#3 - Attitude adjuster - A slightly watered down Tool Musiq - like the second disc for it.

True story, Rhymefest did everything for Jesus Walks except for one verse (thats how he got the Grammy for it) shrug on the Ye arguments

  • :bluu:

Sorry I’m all for going back and fourth, it keeps the day ‘fresh’, but its a losing argument proven by your last line.

EVERYTHING in music and fashion is cycular in nature. There is nothing new, and there never wil lbe anything new. What may appear new is usually just a slightly altered version of something old, or simply something folks didnt know about outside of a certain region. C-walkin/blood bouncing/Gangsta-walkin were all new to me, yet they’ve been around for a LONG ass time…just new to me.

So I mean from day two or three wit hhip-hop - once it expanded a bit beyond ‘just the DJ’ - fashion became an integral part of it and the higher in the clouds rap got the more fashion followed. From custom name brand jackets and eyewear, to the expensive for NO fuccin reason jeans (you a fool to spend more than say $100 on some jeans)…the ONLY reason I knew what any of the ‘name brand’ fashion shit was in the mid 90s was because of rappers. I remember talkin to aAce back in like 95 about “Yo I heard them Onyx silver bubble jackets were like $500 bux!”. I’ve been to NYC TWICE in my whole life and in like 99 the sole thing I wanted was the silver FUBU jersey Jay was flexin in the Hard Knock Life video (and some matchin Foampsoite Maxes tear drop).

And Metrosexualness…dude…look up ANYBODY from the 80s and tell me that isn’t EXACTLY where we are now. We are a few months from Souldja boy jumpin on stage with just some silk boxers on with a cowboy hat.

That looks JUST like some Kanye shit too me…

“Kurtis taught me”

I’m just saying, on this front Ye isn’t doing or saying anything new. I got NO PROBLEM with what Ye does or represents, I’m just trynna say it isn’t new.

So DJ Premier postd his ‘best of 11’ list, like his list ALOT more than HHDX.

I got all the ones in bold and can vouch for them (unless marked thru). Can anyone co-sign any of theo thers for me to pick up? Been eyeballin Reks, its got AWESOME reviews up and down the net. Bumpy Knuckles is my man and all - I’m actually plannin o nscoopin his joint with KRS one of these days (after my money is good again, fuggin holidays - payin for the wife’s gifts hit me harder than planned, then found out she is STILL using her g#DDAMN credit card for shit, bought to straight Edward scissorhands that shit like ‘whoops sorry’)

Yeah you said something on FB, but I was already o nthe road and didn’t know who he was. I’ll need to demo some of his/her/their stuff. I thought it was an R&B act.

And if Evidence got a million youtube views, then some intern at his label’s office has a REALLY boring job…
