It’s not like hologram performances are anything new. New to Hip hop yea…but people have already shown (well otaku if those count…completely different audience) that they’d go to a concert full of hologram performances. And those holograms aren’t even based on real people…

It’s not like hologram performances are anything new. New to Hip hop yea…but people have already shown (well otaku if those count…completely different audience) that they’d go to a concert full of hologram performances. And those holograms aren’t even based on real people…

not even close to the same amount of detail put in.

Yea that one happened a year ago. Recent ones seem to be better but definitely not as "High Def’ as the Tupac one. Especially how they had the interaction with Snoop and Dre.

Edit: Actually the link I posted was 2 years ago. Heh, I’m just waiting for it to be improved and applied to games. Competing against holograms would be interesting.

Its funny, but mixing the PS3 tech wit hthe 360 tech would result in awesomeness. You could in theory do a 3D Kinect game that way. Or Ninteno could go all boss, say FUCK the 3DS, and resurrect the Virtua Boy at the size of actual glasses so folks could hook it up to the 3D kinect, and now you got like real 3D…and you can Dance like diddy…the 360 with kinect by itself can’t contain Sean Combs moves…you need 3D inna-axion to make it work.

I agree with Unreal, the point of going to concerts is to be entertained. Its entertainment, just like video games are entertainment. A game could be hyper realistic and have a great engine, but if it’s not fun, no one cares. Slipknot (dont know how privy guys here are to other genres) would like themselves on fire and do other crazy things like that at live shows to ENTERTAIN. I went to a Joe Budden concert, 1 of my fav rappers, and it was honestly a snoozefest to me.* I left early. It was at a venue called The Blockley, which was essentially just a bar and a stage (and bad speakers). But I am not saying you need a bunch of pyrotechnics to have a good SHOW, but the point of the show is to entertain. Why do people watch WWE even though its fake? Because its entertaining.

Not to belabor the point, but if a guy is just going straight through his song list and leaves, thats cool and all but its doing the bare minimum to me. I dont even get down with this kind of music like that, but stuff like this is real dope to me.

*This could also spark up another debate about how some rappers just arent enjoyable live compared to others. For example, I might love listening to Budden on my laptop but super lyrical bars wont get me hype at a show. Songs like Ruff Ryders Anthem will… catchy songs with catchy hooks.

Shoot, id love for someone to make a hologram like that for my Aunt/Uncle/Grandparents/etc. The hologram was incredible to me, must’ve felt weird for Snoop tho considering hes actually performed with him before.
