Wack wack wack and wack. You could have at least said Pharrell and Ice Creams/Bathing Ape. You named 4 urban clothing labels that are non existent out side of the street corner and didnt leave any mark on the world of fashion.

Lets talk about Nicki Minaj and Guiseppe Zanotti, J Lo and Gucci, Kanye and Versace, Beyonce and Balmain, Gaga and McQueen. Lol. Stuff white people know about. This nigga said FUBU and WU-Wear. Doesnt count.

If it wasnā€™t for them kanye wouldnā€™t be taken seriously at all.Kanye is not the end all be all he works with tried and true concepts and ideas and slightly ads his shit too it that nigga is pretty much Virgil and Chris Julianā€™s puppet.

I love ye dick suckers, theyā€™re hilarious. Honestly and truthfully Kanye said himself Pharrell is one of his main inspirations for being so into fashion. He did some big shit in the fashion industry, ye is kid shit compared to any fashion ā€œguruā€. His ego is annoying, I really am not into his music like most, heā€™s straight.

Thing is kanyes ego fools most folks into thinking he is always doing something revolutionary and groundbreaking at all time. Its crazy this nigga has a cult now

Illuminati eye got them under his spell, Bey had her baby, they say that they had the whole fourth floor to themselves, probably so ye could draw the pentagon with drakeā€™s paper cut blood and sacrifice the blemish free goat. There is no Beyonceā€¦only zool.

So I just realized that there are a lot of really good people on youtube. EpicLLoyd also co-writes the Epic Rap Battles of History. His non-ERBOH stuff is really good.

young niggas thinking they know shit again? of course.

Every new year man these cats come into the thread with this shit . Have we got rid of that juggalo yet.

$700 million and $350 million in annual sales isnā€™t what you call non-existent. With those kinds of sales it doesnā€™t matter whether or not White people know about itā€¦but with those numbers you can safely assume they do.

Thereā€™s a difference between wearing a brand and influencing fashion. None of the artists you named influenced those designers or popularized those brands. They didnā€™t even have any self named accessories made from those designers. They simply wear those brands because they were already popular. J-Lo didnā€™t put aviators on the map.

Thereā€™s also an important distinction between a trend setter and a fashion icon. Just about anyone who is identified as well dressed, or admired for being dressed like an idiot is considered a fashion Icon. Lady Gaga for example. Sure sheā€™s considered a fashion Icon, but who the hell have you ever seen wearing that Kermit the frog dress? No one. Sheā€™s not a trend setter, contrary to how loosely the term is tossed around.

Letā€™s take Kanye. Heā€™s not a trend setter. At his best he dresses preppie at his worst heā€™s a hipster. He neither invented those styles, nor was an influence upon them. Sure there are fans of his who copy his style. On a whole, do you see people emulating Kanye specifically, or just trying their hand at hipster garbage? Iā€™ve NEVER seen anyone wear that Versace H&M jacket he wore. Not in ATL, not in NY. And for a good reason.

Hip-Hop culture as a whole had an enormous impact on fashion during the 90s. Bape which you mentioned was heavily influenced by hip-hop fashion. In terms of individual artists who were Fashion Icons there was Lauren Hill, Erika Badu, Mary J. Blige, and Aaliyah. I remember seeing lots of girls imitate their style. Tons of White girls imitated Aaliyah, and I donā€™t even need to start on the number of Black girls who try to pull off the Lauren Hill look.

Theyā€™re not Hip-Hop per seā€¦but if you want to talk about mainstream fashion Icons from the 90s, you have to mention Boys2men and the other R&B guys from that era.

95% of the time when you see a Hip-Hop artist or any other artist sporting high-end European designer brands, itā€™s because of their stylist who dresses them. Most of them arenā€™t very good stylists either. Kanyeā€™s in particular, and just about every other artist you mentioned. Mary J also falls under that category.

My point in all this is youā€™re giving Kanyeā€¦WAY too much credit.

im sorryā€¦wait wut? hahah i only saw white kids rockin dat wu wear back in the day. and your just idiot if you think sean j is only on the corners. apparently department stores=the hood
