And real talk, Ye’s first album actually stil lfalls directly in line with J Cole’s conceptually. It was about life before being signed, finally making, and issues he had before he got signed. The format was dressed up with a college theme - but that was just a vehicle to convey the issues he had in life before getting signed. Oh and some Party-n-bullshi tracks thrown in for good measure. the only REAL difference between J Cole and Ye’s albums is that well Ye is a better producer - so while both efforts were mostly self-produced - Ye’s was simply better music shrug

No offense but that kind of attitude is part of the reason why the game is so weak, right now, IMO.

I mean who would have thought a new york rap group based on a '70’s martial arts franchise would be so popular? The truth is the execution is everything. And that goes for Wu-tang and College dropout.
