I got sick of it a while ago which controibuted to my dislike for J Cole’s album as the majority of the album to me was 'Hey I got a record deal! ’

But I know exactly how they feel so I’m not mad. If you aren’t thugged out, what is there to talk about? Especially as an artist who’s fulltime job IS music? What are you going to bitch about? 8-5 job? Nope. There’s relationships and money. There’s how life was before you got signed. Of course once signed you have to give hte illusion that everything is good now, so any negativitiy has to be shoe horned into the past somehow. It comes down to how life was, how life changed, how life is now, party/bullshit/women. And that sums up the curent crop of artist who aren’t ‘go hard’ so to speak. If they step outside their box, they’ll get checked right back in.

I see what u mean, but ppl like LL,BDK,Heavy D,Tribe Gang Starr,Redman weren’t gangsters but they weren’t on that “look ma I made it,shouts out to all the ladies that graduated adlibCLASS OF 2012!” either. They all had their speciality and had SWAG.They all had a hard edge about them too.

I just think this new “im a square so i have to rap about what ppl expect from me” is bs.Its these new fans coming in the game saying “i want something i can relate to” screwing things up.

Yeah man, A-trak has been goin ham for years. He signed Danny Brown and has a pretty good camp from his Fool’s Gold imprint. Its funny how he does a lot of house music now, but still doesn’t shy away from doing some tablism when needed. And I bet his set was super on point.

do NOT get it twisted…look at LL…firsto ne on your list

Every album was virtually the same
Song for the ladies
Posse Cut
Song for hte ladies
song for the ladies
song about growing up
Song for the ladies.

He was no different. Now I’m not trying to pretend that you cna’t go outside of that bubble - but its dangerous territory. to the average person Talib Kweli is political, and thats turns people off. He ISN’T really, but thats how people sometime perceive them. So they are playing it safe. And thats fine for a first album, but I’d fully expect that by that sophmore album (looking at Drake) that you’d stop playing it super safe and just GO for it.

^I was just thinking the same about Common, everyone assumes Common is a revoloutionary,or righteous rap.I know one girl who got upset after hearing Ghetto Dreams, saying Com let women down and he sold out.I was like :wtf: have u heard Like Water For Chocolate(he said something about slapping a chick) or Go???Com’s always been outside of the box if peeps actually followed him instead of hopping on him.

The hierarchy is:

BIG GHOSTFASE
Charlemagne
TripleAgent

We are federally incentivised and licensed to clown Drake at any and all times.

steals and smells Nicki Minaj’s unitard after her show

writes 258 otherwise unfocused simp ass bars

listenin to this mixtape… lovin the three 6 sample he did… respect to him on that note.

The track with MC Lyte? You do know that track is actually a metaphor…Common is a music artist and MC Lyte is a Record Label…

I know she does but the way she is naturally shaped(minus the implants, they work for her tho.) is nice to me. She’s tall and all her curves just hit right. bean fed girl.

idk its been a min,but i could swear it was a skit where he was talking tho

“Look at me now im famous” rotfl…thats Drake, Big Sean and J Cole in a fucking nutshell.

I prefer that Kayne West style delivery with the double entendres and metaphors with luxury items. Its like Kanye is the cousin with the good job that comes back to the family reunion to stunt on his broke ass relatives and they get tight.

“The Lyor Cohen or Dior Homme, thats Dior Homme not ‘Dior homie’”

“And outta all the colors that all fill up the skies you got green on your mind I can see it in ya eyes”

“Why you standin there wit ya face screwed up? Dont leave while you hot thats how Ma$e screwed up.”

GOAT.

Yeah, one of my biggest rap fears is that people turn on Gambino, and/or that Big Ghost roasts him *. Much as I love dude’s music, certain songs of his are just ripe for Ghost. But do we even know if he’ll blow up like that? He’ll probably stick to his concerts and do performances on shows (like Jimmy Fallon) when promoting something. I doubt he’ll get big enough to really “roast.” Even though he’s on the come up, he still has a lot of other things on his plate.

*Since Childish Gambino’s Camp is leaked right now, I actually checked to see if Ghost had a review up for it. No, but that big ass watercolor pic of Drake crying is still there. It still makes me laugh.

I used to think that people turn on you when you go famous because everyone roots for the underdog. Now I’m starting to think the “turning” is just the people who hated you before fame speaking out. Like with Drake. If the problems people are talking about with this album* were present when he first appeared, then Drake had to have as many haters as lovers. I don’t know if CG has that well of haters built up (his earlier stuff kinda sucks compared to now), but we’ll see.

*not trying hard enough, trying to mix gangsta shit in with straight simp shit.

Thats what I’m saying, Drake aint changed. He been crying over bitches. Drake always been a lil emo. I thought he was gay when I seen the comeback season mixtape cover. I thought he was an R&B singer. Like this is old news.

Drake sensitive. He’s not a fighter. He’s not a dealer. And he never claimed he was, which is why I dont understand grown ass men that try to roast on him.

Why can Snoop still get his hood cred after doing songs with Katy Perry and Kreyshawn? Why can Ice Cube and Ice T be on sitcoms dancing with white co-stars? Why Lil Jon went from hip hop producer to David Guetta with dreadlocks? Did yall know Akon the one who signed Lady Gaga to his record label? That same Akon that was rapping about the struggle is retired by age 40 because he signed a white bitch that ended up being Lady Gaga. Why? Because $$$$ talks.

If I have a fanbase, and I start getting paid way more to cater to a new fanbase, then its a wrap for them old fans. Thats why Wayne on his Terry Kennedy shit. Playing the guitar all outta key. Thats just how it be. People change, people stay the same. At the END OF THE DAY…you know what it comes down to.

everything u stated we kinda already know in this thread… trust me on that.

drake gets clowned cause he has said things that make u question like really guy. oh an the fact he has played the tuff talk in his raps an if u know your history when u play tuff talk then get emotional u will get clowned… please see game for further reasoning.

Yeah it was a skit right before the song with MC Lyte…it was to help with the metaphor of artist thinking they are doing something, artist think they are pimping, but inreality THEY are the ones being pimped.

  • :bluu:

But Drake only been shot on TV (OH!)

  • :bluu:

Pissed…didn’t sync my iPod so I have no Kendrick Lamar nor Pac Div…but

Joe - The Good, The Bad, The Sexy is fire

I’ve listened to both twice already today. Also threw on Clipse, ASAP Rocky, & Tech N9ne’s new album. Bout to switch again, but dunno what to.

  • :bluu:

big ghostfase is a nobody though. like he says some randomly funny shit, but at the end of the day he’s just a guy pretending to be a guy. the real ghostface dropped an r&b album, so…yeah.

How is that new Pusha T? I heard it was disappointing…
