I’m starting to notice that some in the thread don’t care too much for differing opinions or tastes. It’s not like it was a few years ago. There were mad divergent tastes. It was kind of like Baskin Robbins up in here. We used to talk about mad underground artists as well as mainstream. It made it easy to have access to new ish. The only thing we had to worry about in this thread was the occasional Dipset vs. G-Unit argument. Not to say this thread is now garbahge but it just seems a bit subdued now.

My girl seems to think Drizzy is talented (because he can act, sing and rap). I’d like to see if he can be successful in this current adverse consumer market.

I definitely agree. It does seem to be much more subdued and folks seem real aggy about shit that they haven’t heard.

Speaking of Aubrey, I asked my chick about Drake and the conversation went like this:

What I think is that most niggas who see a rap thread on a devote fighting game forum . Niggas automatically think we take hip hop seriously which we do. I don’t think that the opinions are subdued its just due to prior experience niggas expect us to have certain opinions due to us having particular taste.

I don’t think Drake is a horrible mc or nothing like that my main thing is dude is overexposed…I used to feel the same about Wayne(around Carter 2).I didn’t really get sick of him until he started popping up everywhere.I would even get sick of rappers I do like if they were everywhere.Imagin KRS on every track,or Joell Ortiz on every song out there.That would be mad annoying.

My problem with Drake is he said he just now started listening to rap music and the only reason he raps is because he wants to be an actor in america. So to me that shows he has a lack of respect for our craft. Everything he has done is just to get a following in america to be an actor . I can’t respect dude at all.

I run my DJ business through the net (Craigslist and Facebook). If you think its legit, then by all means do it. If money is going to be exchanged, I ALWAYS get half up front, straight cash homey. Don’t give a sample unless you either stamp the hell out of it and ALWAYS get a signed contract!

In regards to the subject matter of the thread, simply put, the underground has been pinched just as hard as the mainstream…so there just isn’t htat much to talk about…nothing more nothing less. There are no really ot crews to argue back and fourth with (lulz @ Yung moola), there are no hot beefs rightnow, there just sin’t shit to talk about. shurg
