From a catalog stand point then its the other way around easily.
IMO Em got 5/6 solid or better not counting Curtain Call/Re-Up. Jay’s best shit is BP, RD, Vol. 2, Black Album, and Roc La Familia with some bangers on Vol. 1. In Cato and lyrically Em takes it IMO. I just wish he would rename it King Mathers, that working title for Relapse.

Em has Slim and MM thats it IMO.
Im not disputing that Em is better lyrically…but, Jay is by far the better song/album maker. Plus his subject matter is better.
If we’re talking in current times, on a strictly rapping level Em > Jay. In their primes, it’s a coin toss IMO. Catalog-wise, Jay eats Em for lunch. I don’t know where you’re getting 5/6 from either.

I can agree with Jay-z making more solid albums. Em usually gets Dre+ maybe 2 other producers so it always sounds repetitive. Jay has more money/connections = endless possibilities.

Jay has made better albums, because he was making better albums. It’s as simple as that.
Em’s production wasn’t the issue. His subject matter, and penchant for making fucking stupid songs is what made his albums lackluster.
i dont think his stupid songs really hurt him…people are only noticing how annoying they are now…but remember his bigger albums got more noise because of them. the news and celebs got legit mad at him, which caused alot more people to turn attention his way.
I think Em’s three albums maybe four hold some weight against Jay’s five.
