I don’t frequent SRK much and I’m not gonna pull a nachoortiz 2.0 and type out an essay of excuses, but I can name the few times I’ve RQ since launch because they were all lagfests. Even right now though I’m hovering at the same LP as in this video cuz I’ve never been one to just drop out of every match I lose.
This match though; not really about lag so much as I got fucked. Poor form to get frustrated and leave like that because my gief got zoned out, cuz that’s just the gief life. I was relatively fresh to the character and forgot that struggle so I fell on this match and tilted the fuck out and just dropped.
I RQ very rarely as it is but there’s my input on this match, if I played this match again I would’ve taken the L without getting so frustrated. Prolly not gonna see any replies to this post, like I said I don’t frequent here much but I just wanted to reflect.
Apparently Capcom have only punished players with 90%+ RQ rates overall. That’s horseshit IMO. They should implement a system that reduces LP by 500 per rage quit, and award the remaining player with standard LP gains. Either that, or just remove ranked all together if its going to be a place where only the top RQers have gold status…

They should just do something like MMO’s do. If you disconnect in the middle of a fight, your character just stands there untill you log back in. If you log back in in time, you get back into the match and regain control of your character. If you don’t log back in in time, you log back into the result screen where you’ll see you lost the points.
Probably not too easy to implement, but it will solve the entire thing. Sure, you might lose some points if you genuinly disconnect, but I gladly pay those few points to prevent rage quitting.

It’s more the fact that ragequitting currently still goes without penalty, I mean 30 people with a 90% RQ rate is a woefully small number. People will just keep doing it, don’t see how this is about the big bad PC boogeyman. Though I do think I recognize your name from the SRK news comments and your PC hateboner is immense.
