It’s a complete waste of time to play when you know they’re gonna RQ. They’ll do it regardless. So why bother?
if you get matched up with the same person over and over and they start taking over 500 points just from getting matched up with them back to back and you can’t react to anything because of lag and their character keeps warping around from stepins/jumpins im sure you’d care.
The system is stupid. You’re defending a broken system as is on understanding my intentions. Don’t quit but lag and lose. The dude gets 100 a pop each match and ranked loves to keep matching you up with the same people. The line that needs to be drawn is that crapcom needs better net code that can match you up with MORE people and have an active punishment for lag switchers.
I may not get the 1k points back, but it wouldn’t be the first time I’ve lost over 1k points from people who’ve used lag to win.
I’d rather just not play them or stop playing shitty ass ranked once i’m back where I’m at till they fix their shit instead of be bothered with a fucked up system that punishes you if you refuse to play players like that or forces you to put massive points on the line and have to play in hellish lag.
i want a forfeit button.
so many people who refuse to just kill me when i dash in them to do, so its a fucking waste of time.
when the connection is shit i dont want to play that match. i cant quit anymore so thats the only option now i have and running into assholes who just waste my time because capcom is to stupid to implement a system which just rewards the person who stay like after a normal loss without to ban/-1000 you eh…the already kinda frustating sf5 experience get worse from day to day.
the currenct rq penalty is no fix at all. count a disconect as a loss and give the person who stayed the point and take them from said person who quit or lost the connection and the whole problem would be done. such a easy problem which could be fixed with ease but capcom is going theire stupid way.
and add god damn flags in the match accept screen which reflects where the person come from.
how can a company who did these things in 4 fuck so simple tasks up in 5?!
Hopefully this fix will still deter some people, no matter how flawed some may think it is. ToxicCanadian ALWAYS rage quits on me in casuals. It was good to see that he dropped form 3007 LP to 2007 LP today. I’m glad to see the fix is working against people who really deserve to be losing points.
wouldnt it be a better feeling when you just would have got your points like when you would have beaten him?
while he of course lose mentioned points…
you did right now didnt get anything out of it and these people will now just quit 2 times and wait then a few hours. it will not stop them.
Of course that would be better. And I’ve said as such before I knew the actual details of the new rage quit fix. But that isn’t what Capcom has done. What we have is what we have. And until they implement a better system, at least some people are being punished. Even if they do it twice then stop playing or whatever to avoid punishment, at the very least it lessens the frequency at which they rage quit.
thing is this wasn’t an RQer i fought ts tali whatever a while ago and he RQ’s, but he stopped after i HAD to face him and he didn’t want to give up his points.
this dude is a lag switcher and i can’t keep up with teleporting jump ins and step ins or magical moves out of nowhere with no start up.
so the only thing i can do is take the L and get bodied or avoid him and get bodied by crapcum.
the wise decision would be to punish people who disconnect MIDMATCH. not at the loading screen.
Just FYI, did some RQ testing in casual mode.
I can confirm that RQ’ing 3 times will result in the same 24-27 hr lockout and LP reduction as in ranked.
By casual do you mean strictly the casual matchmaking or are you including battle lounge in that? I quit out of a battle lounge game earlier today at the start of the first round because of absolutely unplayable lag and would hate to get punished for that if I unknowingly did the same later on.
I’m not defending the system. With the most recent discoveries it looks rather stupid to me too.
My point is: you, player, don’t get to decide whether it’s cool or not to quit a match. If that was the case anyone could add his personal reason and the system simply wouldn’t work.
They could add a forfeit feature or a “block player” thing, but it’s hard to not make them abusable
This would actually be pretty damn good, but in all due respect anything they do can be abused as anything can be corrupted.
Either way i’d rather they add a block player and you give a statement why and capcom looks under the review and reviews the matches to see the lag or ask you submit a video of said lag or etc.
The reason they won’t do that is because they don’t want to actually do real work and set up this faulty system that, once again, rquitters will just rage quit two times every hour.
Like there’s simple fixes to this. you can let people eject before the match starts with no repercussions. sure it may make ragequitters run from people they know they can’t beat, but again - who really wants to play a ragequitter anyways? Sure it could be abused in a manner that if someone sees a chun on their screen they immediately eject too, but trust and believe not everyone will do so and if they RQ any time after in match they get punished.
My thing is, if I pick 5 bars, I shouldn’t be CONSTANTLY getting matched up with someone laggy and if I decided to not even want to be bothered with them, I gotta suffer for it. over the pros and cons of the vast majority that have to suffer, there’s more loss for them than the rage quitters and shit isn’t getting a concrete fix.
What they should do is simply this.
[] Either add a report player/block player with submission of proof feature. Which, if not concret proof, you’ll be penalized for using said feature if handled with misuse just to avoid a player for no specific reason.
[] Let people be able to eject from the game on the world screen without being punished in the very case you have situations like what recently happened.
[] Get ACTUAL ping numbers instead of bars. (You’d think they’d have realized all the fucking complaints back with iron galaxy and third strike/vampire savior…) That way if you use the ASK feature you can see their ping and take a second to see if it’s fluctuating or decreasing or if it’s stable.
[] Do better netcode work and fix shit where we don’t keep getting matched up with bad connection players. Especially in something like RANKED.
And here’s the real rant -
It’s a damn shame you can play some other games where a few states over the connection is decent. But as soon as it’s this game, the shit is jittering, jumping, teleporting and spiking.
I think if fighters want to really thrive in selling their games for the future, they need solid concrete netcode configuring to make sure there’s decent to amazing online play for the casual gamers who don’t have a fgc scene nearby for them. Or at the very least a solid punishment or Q&A troubleshoot for when the situations do arise.
All we get when shit like this happens is Ono saying he’s sorry or things weren’t as good as they could have been then OH SNAP! new same STAGES with DAY AND NIGHT, but SAME MUSIC! or NEW DLC YOU GOTTA PAY 10 BUCKS FOR ONE STAGE AND 5 DOLLARS FOR ALT COSTUMES! Like shit is not getting fixed, the fixes they’re distributing are a piss poor job and then come far inbetween every MONTH to actually implement fixing the borked “fixes” that they made.
It’s like if it weren’t for offline play and scene this game would be beyond displeasurable for me to play because there’s always either lag, rage quits or few and inbetween matches because no one plays anymore because of all the issues the game previously built it’s failure up with.
did you find this out by checking the replays afterwards and his losses never showed up?
ye, that’s sth most of these frauds do nowadays right? VFM that rashid player, world combo, backdashluffy etc.
it’s sad, capcom knows it, YET still doing nothing 7 months after the release of this game.
This isn’t a good solution either. It would be easily abused if you can choose not to fight an opponent you know you can’t beat (Aka. Cherry Picking your opponents).
Totally agree on being able to see Ping numbers instead though.
