I’m all about a system-wide LP reset. I’ve been about it since the first days of the game and I’m even more about it now.

We’re also happy to announce that we will be implementing a system to punish players who frequently disconnect during matches (aka rage quitters).

The way this will work is the system will identify players who have high disconnect rates during matches and will lock them out of matchmaking for a period of time. Players who have been identified as abusing the system will receive an in-game message notifying them they have been locked out of matchmaking. More additions and enhancements to this system will be implemented in the future."**

Why did they choose such a convoluted system ? They should have done “disconnect = defeat = lose normal points+100 and other player gets normal win points”. This would have completely removed ragequit, now it will just make it slightly less frequent. “I’m about to end my game session, I’ll just ragequit a few times to increase my score, the lock out will be over when I start again tomorrow”. Capcom developers are idiots.

Also, what is “high disconnecting rate” ? 80% like the ban wave that didn’t do shit ? When you lose 5 times more points with a loss than you earn with a win, a 20% disconnect rate is enough to keep you at a rank you don’t deserve.

This is so infuriating. What is a “high disconnect rate?” If someone does it once a night that’s still one too many times in my opinion. I don’t care about protecting people with bad connections anymore, it’s 2016 damnit! If you drop your connection you lose your points, give 'em to the other guy, end of story

The one caveat here is that “more additions and enhancements to this system will be implemented in the future.” There’s still hope I guess?

Thing is, Rage Quitter only cares about the point anyway, so penalizing them by time out won’t really fix the issue because they don’t really play the game for the game itself. Also, this doesn’t really help the other guy that actually win the game. Rage Quitter will just quit, then wait until the time penalty stops then do what they do again afterward. but like you said…there might still be hope. More improvement coming they said.

Pt_ditto is bitchmade. Beat him twice, then we got matched up again and he quits before my CA kills him after stun. Would’ve been at 6k too :confused:

So is the penalty going to check Ranked only or Battle Lounge/Casuals too? I tend to leave if I get an insufferably bad connection there.

I’ll be on mkx till this gets fixed. Then when it does get fixed capcom needs to reset everyone to 0.

What a half assed “fix”… as the guys above said, this is very infuriating. I know its better than nothing and it IS one step to their total RQ fix… but jeez, this is barely even a bandaid.

If the time out is something like 10 mins and the RQ % is up to 75-85%… then I am going to go mental

This doesn’t really surprise me that Capcom can’t into internet. It’s 2016 and they only realized people play vidya games online.

I can’t say the fix is justified or not until they release how long you are locked out of Matchmaking.

If the way they built online doesn’t allow them to know who disconnected (which would be retarded, but not excessively surprising), does that mean that a RQ increase the disconnect count for BOTH players ? And if I meet too many RQers I’ll be locked out too ? :o

And if they CAN know who disconnected… why the everloving fuck don’t they just give a loss to RQer and a win to other ? Either way, I’m baffled. :expressionless:

Well that sucks. I’m going to create a new profile with another account and RQ 2 out of 10 matches (even if i’m winning). Let see if this crappy system works.

RQTester or something like that will be the name of the profile

Every time I fight someone with a +4 win streak, I have anxiety if I land the finishing blow.
