Don’t even understand how this is an issue for Capcom to need to “work on.” Just make it so that if someone disconnects they forfeit the game.

It’s just bizarre. I’m apparently a pathetic piece of shit who needs to be banned from SRK because I reacted poorly to someone being an ass in a video game.

In current state of the game people here even feel obliged to put up with the stupid laggy matches rather than quitting. Yet you say that you felt insulted by a critical art finish. If you dont want to get insulted try not to get bodied next time.
It’s a gentlemans code atm. Simply you dont quit until capcom fixes this shit.
Its really weird that people feel obliged to put up with “stupid laggy matches” because the game allows you to set the bars to the matches.
Its your fault in the end if you set it up so you accept any match rather than a proper connected one.
You are not guaranteed to enter a world made of cotton candy with milkshake rivers when you accept a match with 5 bars…
I suppose that’s true. It doesn’t excuse Capcom’s shoddy servers but it does act as a filter. Might as well have that than not one at all and have to accept that match from Kazakhstan.
trust me, I’ve put up with plenty of matches plagued with rollback and that one was no exception, the CA for the last bit of life was just the tipping point where I said “well, fuck you too buddy.”
never denied it was a dick move, never said I was in the right, I just came here to say that match is a rarity. I had a moment of weakness like a lot of people here have probably had, even those on their high horses, so the hostility just seems so unwarranted. me coming in and apologizing to Otter, even giving him free points when I saw him in ranked the other day, is a lot more than you’d ever get out of the true serial rage quitters out there.

So, uhh…why is winning with an unnecessary CA seen as disrespectful? Some people just like closing rounds in a cool way. Winning the game with EX or CA contributes towards getting an achievement anyway so why not? Being disrespectful would be playing you like you’re an idiot.

You ragequit because you ate a CA while having the magic “pixel” of health left , and you thought of it as the opponent taunting you?

I mean if I dunk on you in basketball, you don’t get to punch me in return. The rules of the game determine what is a “dick move” and what isn’t. However, capcoms refusal to be a referee is the biggest problem and I’m not going to get mad at someone for abusing that.

Considering ragequitting has cost me like 3000lp, that’s a worthwhile investment. It doesn’t mean I spend all my time crying about ragequitting

I’m not sure if you’re joking or what (because on the internet it’s impossible to tell if you’re being sarcastic or just an idiot) but matchmaking settings have proven to do absolutely nothing. I’ve set it to 5 bars, same hardware and been matched with someone on different hardware, with a flag I don’t recognize, that teleported all over the screen at ~5fps. You can test it yourself, just set the fight settings to ‘ask’ instead of automatic, and you’ll see that it matches you with people far below what you specified. I’ve also had “five bar matches” that ended up being complete ass. If the filters worked you’d have a point but they very clearly don’t, so don’t say things like this.
In addition I’ve played people +/- ~5000 pts so I’m not really sure what purpose points serve, whatsoever. There’s no real prize for getting a lot of points or even any recognition, so the only purpose a ladder would serve is better matchmaking, but that’s clearly not what it’s being used for. I just don’t understand ANY of the decisions they made with this game.
How often are people actually RQ’ing on you? Realistically I’ve probably only lost < 500LP due to RQ’ing. Hard to believe you’ve had that many in such a short amount of time.
I’ve been rage quitted on at the very least, 25 times. That’s a conservative estimate. I still remember on rage quit where it was in the middle of round 2 and dude left when he got SPD’d. It’s so stupid.
