Playing with her now…she’s the new Psylocke, except she can sort of defend herself from shit lol.
Her Shadow Blade assist is the best GTFO assist in the game IMHO. You can easily confirm a magic series when you see it land by SJing after the opponent, kinda like how Storm/Psylocke worked.
Finishing Shower is ass, I don’t ever use it. The only supers I use are Astral Vision (her clone copy, pretty good mixup with Iron Man assist covering her), and her ground super. I’m currently running Sent/IronMan/Morrigan.
Anyone want me to test out anything? She can’t wave dash (when she dashes she does a flying arc like her MvC2 counterpart), which threw me off a bit >_>. However, she has some crazy hi-lo mixups. Her tri-jump Medium attack is very good.
I don’t think she’s that good on point TBH cuz her health is a liability, especially in this game where everyone has some 100% for 2 meters., but she can be used well in the right hands.
You didn’t like Finishing Shower? I felt it was a nice hyper, combos easily from :h: Shadow Blade anywhere for OK damage, pretty safe for DHC unless you’re fighting someone with a good beam hyper, completely safe when blocked, etc etc.
Sure, it’s not the best hyper in the world, but it’s not as bad as it was in TvC.
Well, I don’t really have that much of a chance to run Morrigan on point. Niggas havent been able to get past my sentinel yet lol…
Finishing Shower’s damage is just not that good. Hell, Morrigan’s damage in general isn’t that good (we’re talking about practical combos you can use in tournament matches, when you most likely only have 1-2 meters). I see her astral vision as her go to super, especially cuz of her tricky hi-lo/cross-up game. Her dashes/trip-jump are all unpredictable.
j.:d:, j.:d: does not work, remove that and the combo works.
Works, timing is strict.
Again, j.:d:, j.:d: does not work. Can’t make it work outside of the corner. If you use a :h: Shadow Blade before the Finishing Shower, it works anywhere.
j.:d:, j.:d: does not work, aside from that the combo works fine.
Same thing apply to these. j.:d: does not work, Finishing Shower corner only without Shadow Blade. Remove the j.:l: for Air Tags.
X-Factor combo works without the j.:d:.
That’s all for now, if you have any other doubts just ask, I’ll be playing all day.
Managed to try her out at Best Buy. Doesn’t look like you can get more than about a 35 hit combo with her astral vision. Also, I think all you need to do is block the real Morrigan. Still pretty sweet that it only costs one meter, which is usually rebuilt if you can manage to keep attacking. Also managed to do an air combo into her finishing shower. Was a little worried that it wasn’t possible anymore since I only saw it in a video on the official Japanese site but not in any match vids. For example, out of a basic ground to air combo you can go into an aerial shadow blade and combo into a finishing shower. Took of about half of Iron Man’s life bar.
I noticed Roxas hasn’t replied yet so I’ll answer whatever I can:
Depends where you start attacking. Her jumping :df: dash is the one that arcs in a U. If you start attacking while going down you can get two hits from light or special. If you start attacking as you arc upwards you can get 3 hits with the special (shell kick).
I managed one only, which was the one I described. I did try several other ground and air combinations but I couldn’t find anything.
The combo might need some adjustment, because :d: seems to leave the opponent a little bit too far for a second standing :h: - a few hits of the first seemed to whiff.
EDIT - As I thought, a second s.:h: will not hit if you do the full BnB. You can do it by omitting one hit.
Testing damages.
IAD j.:s: (3 hits) :d::l: :d: :h: :d::h: :s: j. j. j.:h: Shadow Blade :h: xx Finishing Shower does 350~400k, depends on how many missiles hit, harder to hit more missiles on the corner.
IAD j.:s: (3 hits) :d::l: :h: :h: :d::h: :s: j. j. j.:h: Shadow Blade :h: xx Finishing Shower does slightly less, around 350~380 damage.
For comparison’s sake:
IAD j.:s: (3 hits) :d::l: :d: :h: :d::h: :s: j. j. j.:h: Darkness Illusion does 624k damage.
IAD j.:s: (3 hits) :d::l: :h: :h: :d::h: :s: j. j. j.:h: Darkness Illusion does 620k damage.
Doing standing :h: twice gives slightly more meter than doing the normal BnB, at the cost of slightly less damage, so it might have it’s uses when you need that extra oomph for more meter.
IAD j.:s: (3 hits) :d::l: :d: :h: :d::h: :s: j. j. j.:h: Shadow Blade :h: gives about 80% meter, does 247,300 damage.
IAD j.:s: (3 hits) :d::l: :h: :h: :d::h: :s: j. j. j.:h: Shadow Blade :h: gives about 90% meter, does 243,800 damage.
This silly :h: helped me figure out some important differences between the X-Factor levels.
As we already know, X-Factor reduces recovery and startup of the moves, that what allows to do longer combos. Noramally you can do :h: three times, during lvl1 X-Factor you can still do it only three times, lvl 2 allows you to do it 5 times, and with level 3 you can do it whole 7 times in the row.
I noticed that while doing some She Hulk BnBs. Her OTG run followup was kind of hard to do while in normal mode, but it’s piss easy to do while she’s in X-Factor mode.
Thinking about it, Astral Vision will be insane during a lvl 3 X Factor. I’ll give it a go for the lulz
EDIT -
Hoooooooooooooooly shit.
Lvl3 X Factor + Astral Vision:
IAD j.:s: :d::l: :h: :h: :h: :h: :d::h: :s: j. j. j.:h: Shadow Blade = 1.076.100 damage
