I would disagree with Parasoul being considered a plain vanilla character, she has more of the tsundere role and also the sex appeal compared to the other characters. Her playstyle also centers around her tears, an explosive trap mechanic that doesn’t scream generic, if anything, I’d say that a charge based, trap character is much less generic then for example a typical rushdown character like Filia.

Parasoul=Girl with an Umbrella
It’s kind of hard to not see Parasoul as the most vanilla design wise here since she is completely normal compared to the rest.
Sure Parasoul might be more unique than Filia gameplay wise, but that’s irrelevant to why the character gets popular.

I’m almost 100% sure that Parasoul is the Ken mostly because she is easy to pick up. E.g: strongest solo character(so far), spammable long-reaching normals, and no fancy movement options that take a lot of speed.
Considering that the previously announced characters both had things going on with their hair/headgear, Parasoul was, at least for me, pretty unique when she was first announced.
I’m not putting down Parasoul as being boring, I rather like her actually, just normal in contrast to the rest of the cast which is always the most popular.
However I think she is pretty unique compared to someone like Ken(red Ryu) or Saki(Normal Schoolgirl) in comparison, and reminds me of another battle princess.

Also, I think they really should have given her a hat or crown or something, since her character design doesn’t show the “royal” part enough. But she’s in my opinion still tons more exciting than Fillia.

A little crown like this as future DLC would actually be pretty cool and wouldn’t be hard to add to her sprite.
Maybe, maybe not… they’d have to go in and draw an accessory like that in for every frame of animation she has, which sounds like more trouble than it’s worth. I have to agree it would be neat to see, though. Maybe styled after that little crown that’s floating over the heart on the Skullgirls logo. :o
Well, if not in gameplay, it’d still be cool to see her in a gown-and-tiara getup at some point. Even just a little alt. outfit sketch from Alex or something-- there’s a few of those he’s done for Filia and Peacock, after all.
With a small accessory it would be easy to draw it separate with different variations and copy paste it on every frame.
Why should she wear something like this? If someone didn’t notice - she’s a field officer. Hence military-styled outfit. There’s no place for fancy dressings on the field of battle!

I know. It’s just a quibble I have with the design not being indicative enough. I think they either should have added some royal elements to show that she’s a queen more, or they should have added more military elements to show how professional she is.
But then again, she *is *at the head of the pack, while two of my favorite designs, Valentine and Painwheel, are still struggling.
Crown would probably not fit in to the whole Diesel Punk/Dark Deco style of the game.
