On the last one I played beyond terrible. But I saved that replay because of the ridiculous mash-festival that Ken player pulled off. I find it somehow way harder to play against those kind of Kensā¦
Maybe a bit of an offtopic, but I donāt know where else to ask.
How do you guys take the replays from the game? I have a few replays I saved in the āMy Listā at the replay channel. I would like to save some of them on a flash device and upload it to my computer\utube\etc. But I canāt seem to find anywhere the option to save at on a flash device. How do I do this? Would really appretiate a response ):
Sry for the poor English :<
A job well done. I think in the Ibuki match up you could have been a little more aggressive. The player gained momentum on you and won because of that. Guy is the kind of charicter you have to be the agressiver overall. Force your opponant in more 50/50 mix-up situations, to get them afraid to press buttons, so you can apply more pressure. Also Force your opponant in the corner more and do your best to Keep them their by using solid anti-airs (stHK, crMP) and pokes (stMK, crLK). I personally think every Guy player should focus more on developing a stronger corner game since thatās Guyās main objective. Again, solid Guy Cheech.
I think you did good. I would have liked to see some run/stop and frame traps after some of the block strings. You had him teching a lot of grabs so maybe it would have caught him off guard. Heās a pretty high profile player so I know he wouldnāt be the type to ordinarily mash dp, assuming he would be in any real pressure. He noticed that you would do bushin flip after the block string and was ready for it. Your spacing game was good and got you most of your damage. On a defensive end, the knockdown vortex killed you. I just try to focus backdash when I see Ibuki at the jump peak with the kunai out.
vs. Dawg
He would always wake up with something when you knocked him down. I had a similar experience with another Fuerte I played against in the last AE tourney at Chinatown. He would always wake up with backdash or ex run if he had the meters. I didnāt notice it until after about 2 times. I would OS sweep him upon wake-up when he had none and throw him when he did. Itās a funny match-up. I just try to keep him still. The last thing I want is for Fuerte to build momentum.
What do you know? As Iām watching the last NSB I come across a Guy player. His 1st round vs Gouken is a very good example of the solid Guy rushdown I would like to see more of. I believe people donāt respect the character because even after a year of Super, most people are still not exposed to these styles of play.
Thanks for the advice Krey.I think the main problem when playing F-word was that I went for st.mp xx lp flip too much when I should of mixed in lp.hozanto and run stop.I need to realise when its best to take advantage of crouch techers and frame trap them like you said.
Yeah Iām definitely gonna be keeping a look out for Ihara matches.I saw his golden guy in the first arcade NSB and knew he could only get better. The video above is the most solid Guy play Iāve seen.I think Ihara is like the best of Kiryu and the best of Otaku combined.
I dunno man, online most people are used to Guy. Iāve played some goukenās online and they reversal a lot, Iām surprised that didnāt happen once in that fight. But thatās just one of the few match ups that Guy should win anyway.
Also the way that balrog was using ex armour punches to blow up Guyās elbow, makes the matchup even worse if all balrogs did that too - instead they just do it in pressure situations on wake up.
Solid Guy. Your style of play is simular to mine. CrMk followed by crMp or stMp is something I just started back praticing. Anyway, you did very good overall and I like the fact you mixed up your Run Stop pressure against Rose. Being unpredictable is a key trait with Guy and I see you are perfecting this. The only real thing you were doing to much of is Bushin Flip. Be careful, any move that is airbourne can be countered since their is no air block. Use Ex Hozanto to make up for the lack of footsies Guy has, especially against Chun Li. If Chun Li āwhiffsā say stHk or crHk, quickly counter her with Ex Hozanto. Chun Liās footsies are strong and Guyās are about average. So you want to create a little space between you and her when fighting. When she whiffs a move, hit her hard. You generally want to stay just outside of her striking zone so you can punish whatever she throw at you.
Chun Li is a tuff match up for Guy as well as Rose. I tend to play Chun Li and Rose as I do Zangeif and Focus more on Footsieās, Whiff Punishing and Zoning. Annoy these charicters with hit and run tactics as a Vega player would do. If Chun Li gets to aggressive, back off and let her chase you down until she cools off, then go back to your hit and run tacticās, footsieās, etcā¦
Overall I think you did a great job and keep up the good work. Inspiring Guy.
Looks like Kiryu has been playing too much AE. Run over head then was trying to cr. lk. kept throwing out st. MP from too far away. Besides all that he looked very uncomfortable in those matches. He may just have a problem with Rose.?
