Check about an hour in the video.Dieminion plays a long set with Manny(Fuerte) and Yipes(Abel).The Fuerte matchup looks very wacky and the Abel matchup looks quite even but I questioned how many times Yipes got hit buy bushin flip,there were times when he could have just crouch jabbed.Apart from that Dieminion’s Guy really beasted,his short>jab combos were really on point(all his combos were) and I liked his experimentation with cr.fierce as a poking tool to combo into.
Sorry dude, but this is flat out wrong info. If dudley uses lp mgb at range, off of like a c.mp, you will block all the hits but guy’s U2 will whiff because he gets pushed too far away. The same thing goes for all other of his special moves. So this should read:
U2 only punishes DEEP lp machine gun blows and of course, blocked jet uppers. Every other special dudley has pushes guy too far out of range to do U2, even thunderbolt pushes out too far.
It is true though that all the rest of the mgb’s can be punished with Bushin Chain but the timing is rather tight.
In my experience I haven’t had any issues with punishing with U2, although in most cases I opt for stuffing the assault rather than waiting for it. And actually moves like his Back Swing Blow and his Ducking moves for the most part can be punished unless he does them from max range. You can also use U2 to grab him out of his moves. Knowing when to use it comes with knowing the matchup in detail, I was just listing some general ideas for the matchup. If you want in depth analysis go to the matchup thread.
I forgot to test his back swing blow but I know that all of his moves out of duck leave you too far away after blocking them to land reversal U2. And of course if you can react to dudley ducking at you or launching a mgb and U2 before an attack comes out it will hit.
I know this isn’t the place for match up knowledge, but such a blanket statement about the dudley guy match up bothered me. No hostility intended and I know that this will come down to arguing semantics so I’ll just drop it. Good luck at evo, maybe we can get in some matches when I’m there.
I tested a few of his moves the other day with U2.
His MP and LP can be punised with U2 on block but the HP and EX push you too far away, although hopefully you can see these coming easier so you could U2 them before the hit.
His LK, MK, and EX short swing blow can also be punished on block, but not HK.
I can’t remember which can be punished with the FF chain but if we know that he’s gonna be a lot easier to beat.
another good set of matches man. i really like the use of cl. fierce to run stop. haven’t seen anybody else really using that. definitely learning stuff every time i watch your matches. solid matches though… nice spacing going on between the both of you. you played really patient. good shit man.
