I’ve heard a lot of no’s. Like people who normally defend games to the death for small things had nothing to defend about this shit stain.
However tons of people will also say it’s great or fine–so ask yourself if collecting riddler trophies and punching enemies (again) is worth it.

Was waiting for it to go on sale for like 20 and I got it for 10. hype.
If you enjoyed the first two games, this is more of the same so you’ll likely have a decent time with it. But I’d say 10 bucks is the perfect amount to spend on it.
Dead Space is on the short list of greatest games ever so I highly reccomend copping it for anyone who likes third person shooters or games with an emphasis on atmosphere and it’s fucking free! I remember when it was first announced in 07 and some issue of Game Informer had a cover story on it, I don’t think I was ever more hyped for a game I was counting the days till it launched on 8/28/08 and waiting a year for it to release was torture.
The marketing for DS 1 is still among the best for any game too imagine watching this is 07 before you had any idea DS existed and keep in mind this is when EA was still on that “we don’t do M rated games” tip:

Dead Space’s main gameplay mechanic has you shooting shit in third-person.
At its core it’s a third-person shooter.

That was almost my exact reaction. Ironically, I’ve a short story that features virtually augmented reality that can overlay and change the landscape of your environment to whatever you wish. Some people are addicted to it. The government hands out 'viropacks to welfare recipients living in free housing in lieu of actually having to clean up the place, and of course it’s all ad-supported. Also, of course, there are illegal mods and custom 'viros that people smuggle and peddle in the streets, but no one really cares about any except for the scene jacks, which are replays of enviro augments that other people have recorded. Mostly celebrities, but there’s also criminals who record their crimes for all the wanna-be thugs to play out to the pumping beat of the latest Dare-Trip Hip-hop album illegally transmitted via the sweat glands of prostitutes and strippers. Just gotta be careful not to pick up a a traced track. so many hallucinogens are also transmitted through the skin.
That’s the kind of world I envision when think of what Facebook could be capable of. I originally began writing it with Apple in mind, but I like involving the social networking industry with augmented reality as well. :tup:

I’d say “fine” describes it well for 15-20 bucks. Worth a run through, side missions are more of the same, combat is basically more of the same, etc. Not worth 60, but prob worth 20 for one playthrough.
Fact: Dead Space and RE4 are not pure survival horror games, they are horror/action hybrids
Fact: As @Sonicabid pointed out a game that revolves primarily around third person shooting is (gasp!) by definition a third person shooter
Fact: Third person shooting and survival horror are not mutually exclusive
Fact: The 3 main DS games all have jump scares, but don’t rely on them exclusively just as a farmer does not rely on 1 tool only to maintain his/her farm
Fact: You have a very limited understanding of what survival horror entails and no concept of the word subtlety
@HeaT I saw the announcement trailer last year it looked okay, the trailer you posted looks better, but as a survival horror fanatic I’m not really impressed I guess the “build shit to survive” reminds me of minecraft too much and takes away a lot of the intended fear as it empowers the player, but I’ll keep an open mind and see how it turns out.
Also fuck early access.

For some reason arkham Origins is being dumb and my gamepad doesnt work right with it. Have to use keyboard and mouse now. Sigh.
Edit: Apparently because my Controller isnt an Xbox one it doesnt work right…Jesus christ how dumb. It’s 2014 and Companies are still in the atari age when it comes to controllers.

Even X-Input enable controllers? I’ve never noticed if AA or AC is like that since I use a Logitech when I play Batman.
What is Age of Wonders?
Classic series of turn based 4x fantasy games with a pretty huge amount of depth for their time. Strategic level map for managing your empire/army which would “zoom in” to tactical level maps where things like terrain and cover mattered when your forces clashed with the enemy.
15 some odd playable unique factions. Hero units that would level up and had equipable items. Differing kinds of mobility. Tactical and strategic level magic.
Pretty fun. You can still pick up a cheap copy of the older games on GOG or Steam and be entertained well enough on a slow week.
