A game recently greenlit called âOne Lifeâ.
Itâs basically a simple FPS with the usual stuff. The âtwistâ is that you only have one life in the game. Once you die⌠thatâs it.
I donât understand how this will work.
Einhander, please.

FPS coming out called One Life. When you die, thatâs fucking it.
edit: damn, I should have looked up, like 2 fucking posts lol
if you live in a place where you can inspect tifaâs boobs then please show me
Why would I buy a game I can play any where from 10 minutes to 100 hours, and never be able tot play again? Itâs like paying some assclown to just go outside and experience life for me.
Thatâs the dumbest idea for a game Iâve ever heard. I ainât gonna waste money on a game I canât replay.
Not only can you not replay it⌠you donât have any idea how long you can play it going in.
Probably will go free to playâŚfirst hit is free. But if you want to play again youâll have to buy it. Every time you die youâll have to buy a new life.
Being ultra hardcore and having no way to ever replay the game would just be counter productive. People wouldnât buy it. Or if they did, and died under two hours (which is very likely for a "hardcore survival game), theyâd just get a steam refund.
Even if they were averse to making money, and they were adamant in stopping any way of subverting the âone life everâ system by blocking multiple accountsâŚpeople would just pirate it, if they really wanted another go.
Besides, arenât these online survival games often REALLY, REALLY glitchy at launch? Can you just imagine the shitstorm if people are paying 20 bucks to get stuck in a wall, get murked and then being told âtoo bad so sadâ?
Or think of how the online community will be very quickly become a ghost town since you knowâŚpeople arenât going to be able to play it.
My money is on âultra hardcore permadeathâ being just marketing and as time goes along, the penalties for death will be reduced.
Hey, at least if you die within 2 hours, you can get your money back by Steam refunds.
Hmm, the arcade model on a PC game. Weird.
Best comment is âCapture a person and imprison them. Then kill them after 2 hrs have passed.â
I think if you only had one life per DAY that would be more interesting than one life period. You could pay X for the game and get insta killed by a spawn camper. I think the game will end up being a boring campfest if it even holds anyoneâs interest and will be overrun with cheaters. If the game had a highlander mode season where everyone had to play X hours per week to stay in and there would be one final player that would be pretty fun.
OkayâŚhere is what I have so far:
Half Life 2
Saints Row 2
Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter
Torchlight II
Sleeping Dogs (not the remaster)
METAL SLUG 3
Minimum (x3)
Lethal League
Looking to figure out how to offload themâŚ
If you want, send me metal slug 3. I love playing that game when Iâm home doing nothing.
I do wish I have sleeping dogs away. I never play that
Iâll take Serious Sam off your hands.
see, Smashbro29? all that crying you were doing and i already have those games. maybe this will teach you a lesson on tact.
iâm dying at his scream after he screams âa million ball speedâ
EDIT:
i really dig the premise of this game. iâd like to watch it, though. not play.
Wow man, you have a lot of games. We should be friends.
This seems like one of the greatest games ever. I must play this
