The PC gaming Thread. Steam/GOG/Origin/Etc. Game/Software/Hardware talk

That can’t be true.

I think what they mean is that they’re out of keys, right?

It should be noted that a new PC game on ultra settings is sure to be beyond what you would see on a ps4 version of the game. If you want SFV at ps4 quality, I don’t think you’ll need even the recommended hardware level.

Gotta go with Abid in this thread.
Rec specs are totally overblown, especially for a fighting game.

While certainly games that are being sponsored by nvidia are more likely going to recommend a new graphics card (and nvidia is VERY aggressive in their marketing). I would guess that most cases of high specs are a way of safe guarding against poor optimization and crappy porting.

Like I mentioned before in this thread.

Mad Max had specs that were 4x what I was running on my old PC.
But I ran that damn game on high at a constant 55fps on high.

One of the best optimized games I’ve ever played.
And the 560ti is also one of the best pound for pound cards I’ve ever used.

Yeah, I’m still running shit at max settings with a half decade old ass card.

Fixed for accuracy.

It’s okay though, most human eyes cannot see more than 40 frames per second. And from what I heard, 24 fps gives the game a magical feeling.

I think the term is “cinematic.”

Shit man, my crusty rig runs all games at max settings 1080p 60fps. Its like 5 years old and its still a beast.

That’s good to hear cuz I thought my comp couldn’t handle SFV. I got: i5 2500K CPU @ 3.3 GHZ
AMD Radeon HD 6900 series.

I think I have a better GPU than you but Im sure SFV will run on your rig. Its not so demanding.

P.S. Im not like rick ross…I know how to build a dope pc that will last…welll I need to upgrade my RAM but even that isnt an issue. Ive played games that said the recommended settings were greater than I have no problem.

He likes to… Push it to the limit.

I do.

MSI’s rebates are a scam. I very carefully followed their instructions, only to receive an email today saying that my form wasn’t signed (their own scan of it shows my signature) and that the rebate was a duplicate claim, which is pretty hard to believe when it requires a physical UPC/proof of purchase.

MSI’s rebates are hit or miss so I’m weary of ever applying. Shame, too, since I love their products. If the rebate is more than $10 I just don’t buy the product.

I really hate the rebate model in general. The whole concept is to sucker people into buying something they wouldn’t have otherwise, then hope that they forget or are too lazy to jump through the hoops of sending the damn thing in. Throw in a failure on the paying company’s end to honor it, and things are even worse.

I did once get a 20 dollar rebate on a motherboard.
The irony of faxing in a form before mailing in a little sticker was not lost on me.

Yeah, they add as many tedious steps as possible to discourage you from going through with it

Update on my rebate debacle: So, after complaining to MSI yesterday, I got an email saying my rebate has been processed, and another one claiming that my request had been denied because it was a duplicate of the rebate I just received a shipping notice for. Weird, but seems resolved. My best guess is that maybe they thought I was trying to get two rebates for a single item by sending in the pre-filled Microcenter rebate form and the form from their website together- my intent was to give them no reason to decline my rebate, not to get two for one.

So I’m glad it was resolved, but I still shake my fist angrily at rebate schemes.
