Do you mean the window is minimizing? It could be a program stealing window focus. Do a malware scan.
Keep in mind that it does not have to be malware. There are tons of programs, legitimate and otherwise, that can steal focus away from your topmost window. Check what’s running and do a Google search on the most suspicious culprits. Extra shit like software included with external hard drives and other peripherals are notorious for doing this type of thing. It’s best to just not install that stuff to begin with if it’s not 100% necessary.
Current-gen Nvidia cards don’t support a specific feature within the new DX12 that makes games pretty without being slow, making them perform worse under DX12 instead of better, as should logically be the case. Nvidia, instead of owning up to the fact that their shit is indeed shitty (as usual), tried to obscure the matter and shift the blame onto the game developer, saying that they certainly must have encountered a bug. Developer confirmed that the problem lies in the hardware and not in their software.
That said, let me defend poor Nvidia and say that this isn’t necessarily a game-breaker for them, nor is it indicative of bad design. Perhaps some poor design choices, and a fair bit of short-sightness though, which is pretty much par for the course at Nvidia, which is one of the reasons I generally don’t support their products. Basically, their cards perform as if they optimized their DX11 hardware to perform better at the cost of it’s ability to utilize the asynchronous shaders that feature heavily in DX12.
It’s not a totally big deal, but it does matter to those who want top performance. Also, the problem will probably magnify under VR shit like Oculus Rift that no one will be playing for a long time anyway. And keep in mind that this is just one single game that isn’t even out of development yet. So it really doesn’t matter unless you’re buying a card like TODAY and intend to play that game, or perhaps some other DX12 game. Even then, you’re perfectly fine just running it under DX11 without that extra layer of shiny, or just suffering with the reduced performance. But it’s must safer and future-proof to just buy a current-gen AMD card for now.
I haven’t bought the Zotac 980 ti amp extreme yet so im in the clear. I don’t think it’ll be as bad as it sounds but it does leave them open to the possibility of amd cards super boosting very soon. gonna have to wait and see.
its too bad because I like nvidia and they’re VRcentric plans seem ideal, but who knows whats gonna happen
