I’m loving windows 10 so far but it has some minor quirks that I have some issues with. Windows 8 seemed to handle multiple monitors better than 10 does so far. Getting 2 separate wallpapers for each screen was more of a pain then it needed to be, especially after how simple windows 8 made the process. Also while running a duplicated display setup seems to cause one of my monitors to go black for a bit while the other monitor will already have the game up and running.
The Xbox DVR whatever functionality in Win10 makes it really easy to make clips (and full copies) of videos. E.G., I know that pulling music from Youtube is only a single click away once you install the right extension, but now Windows can do it for you natively, so that’s cool. You can press the Win Key + G, and it prompts you if the app you’re in is a game, and then you can just click buttons and start recording. There are shortcut keys but I don’t remember all of them yet.
edit: I’m only running a single monitor on this particular setup so I hadn’t noticed that, but thanks for the heads-up, as it looks like quite a few people are having multidisplay issues. I’ll probably wait to upgrade it on my other systems anyway, but definitely on the couple that have multiple screens.
I been playing Wolfenstein: The New Order. This is the first Wolfenstein game I’ve played and it’s awesome. Love how over the top the gunplay is being able to dual wield auto shotguns and assault rifles are too good. Don’t like how linear the levels are though. I would have preferred an open design like Halo, Crysis and Far Cry.
Scooped up Clockwork Empires off steam last night. Hopefully they fixed the major bugs during beta. Can’t wait to check it out after work today. Steam punk aesthetics + Caesar2-like gameplay?? We in there son!
lol yeah, that’s basically how i’m still playing most current games at max settings. Witcher 3, Ark: Evolution Evolved, and Oculus Rift specs have finally convinced me to upgrade. I’m gonna try out my first NVIDIA card, seeing as I’ve been reading nothing but horrors stories as of late with AMD (seems that way, ever since ATI got bought out). Linux AMD drivers are a fucking nightmare and a half.
I’m shocked I got so much out of this card. I think I only paid like $200 for it when I got it many many years ago, and it’s lasted me all this time running everything at max without any issues. I’d like to hold off on getting it, if at all possible, until necessary, but we’ll see. I’d kinda rather get a new sectional couch, instead of a graphics card.
What?
Wolfenstein more linear than Halo?
There are tons of little nooks and crannies to explore and go through. Little secret areas you can sneak through and get the drop of some nazis. It’s great.
It is about as linear as Crysis, well, the original one was fairly open, 2nd and 3rd significantly less so.
Obviously it is more linear than Farcry 2/3/4
I’ve been replaying Rage.
Installing the game on an SSD makes a pretty big difference. Even like, 4 years later the game is looking pretty good.
Anybody have a good list of all the shit you need to turn off when you upgrade to Windows 10? I know I gotta turn off network password sharing, and apparently now updates to amigos, but what else is there?
I’m not sure who else was having this issue, but I remember someone else complaining that their computer wouldn’t sleep on its own. I had the same issue, but it appears Windows 10 has fixed it.
The only issue I have is that Cortana is silent. All other audio works fine.
I’ve always had trouble with sleep mode on Windows 7 with several computers. Even having windows itself telling what’s keeping it up or auto waking it never made sense. Shit was annoying.
