Damn, SteamOS is forcing MS to be more generous with their OS. This is pretty awesome. I wonder if my unactivated version of Win7 will get a free upgrade…
Check out fightcade for sure. I can message you a link with everything you need to get started, no viruses or malware.
Not sure if you are being sarcastic but I would appreciate some direction.
I rarely use my PS3 anymore and I feel like I’m just tired of console games. I checked out steam and there’s lots of things I want to try out. I had no idea there were so many types of games available on PC.
Anywho, I caved in and bought the Monster Race version of Evolve for PC, since it was 25% off on Steam for this weekend(so I got it for 75 bucks instead of 100). Anybody else have Evolve for PC?
Just reactivated my steam account and I re-downloaded half life lost coast to my old lenovo notebook just to test it out. The frame rate was great and I forgot how fluid the keyboard and mouse were for FPS games.
Going to download Bioshock Bundle (1, 2, and infinite) for 10 bucks and test it out on the Asus later to see how much better the graphics will be compared to my PS3.
Don’t ruin this for me buddy. Never had a nice PC rig growing up. Whereas most of my old gamer friends moved on and played Diablo 2, counterstrike, warcraft iii, starcraft 2, lead 4 dead 2, and enjoy the overall versatility of having a decent PC, I was stuck as a console peasant with a lower level PC playing against little kids on xbox or psn and having my shit get infected with viruses and etc.
No sarcasm. Fightcade is a matchmaking service for playing old fighting games online. Uses GGPO and it’s legit. Check your messages for more info.
Also, check out Starcraft 2. You can get it for free and it comes with the Blizzard arcade. People make some pretty amazing games and put them on there.
Enjoyed Evolve last night. Too bad I only played one game, and it was laggy as fuck. Kept freezing on me, and I was the monster, so I ended up getting shot to shit every so often.
The laptop is great but I’m stupid for buying the 256gb SSD. The space is too little.
I could either return and get the 1TB hard drive version, or buy an HDD Caddy and attempt to install more space via my optical drive, but I’m a noob when it comes to upgrading.
Ran Bioshock Infinite and my PS3 Bioshock Infinite on the same TV and holy shit, the laptop on very low settings looks better than the PS3.
I also downloaded it on my old Lenovo which is not a gaming laptop and it looks just about as good as the PS3 as well…not sure about performance though.
BTW, everyone, I’m free this weekend to play whatever. Just holla at me. I have no clue how to find people on Steam, since my name is Manx, but apparently there are 500,000 of them fuckers out there. I’m also pretty sure that I’m the first Manx in existence. Them other fuckers were probably still in diapers when I stole my first pair of daggers, bitches.
But anyway, yeah. I’ll be on whatever. Just let me know and I’ll buy/download it if it looks good. Very interested in CS:GO
Some games do better with a faster drive. Skyrim is known for that. I think it’s just because of how it loads textures.
A laptop hard drive is typically going to be 5400rpms, which I will always consider to be shit for speed, and laptop hard drives die very quickly as a consequence of being in a mobile computer. The typical warranty is 2 years for a 2.5" laptop hard drive, while it’s 5 years for a 3.5" PC drive, which is a massive difference. I’ve replaced the hard drive in every laptop I’ve ever owned.
However, if you’re using your laptop like a desktop, that is, you aren’t really traveling with it, then it might be alright. But if you’re doing that, then you may as well just buy an external drive for storage, and keep the SSD in it for the speed.
250gb is pretty small though, so unless you are going to use some sort of external HDD along with it, you’re probably going to run out of room.
