The PC gaming Thread. Steam/GOG/Origin/Etc. Game/Software/Hardware talk

Paying $1 for that is basically stealing, you might as well just pirate them if you’re not gonna pay a decent value : )

If you got the original 4 games for $1 already, you get another 4 games for free on top of it. If not, you have to beat the average for a total of 8 games($5.)

I decided to go with the Logitech Gamepad F310. It came in today and I’m liking it. The pad is good and the buttons got a great feel with some great plastic. Though I dislike the shoulder buttons. It’s similar to the bumpers on the 360 controller and I never liked those and the triggers suck. At least triggers are bigger than Dual Shock 3. Overall, I got what I was looking for. Can’t wait to play Skullgirls with people again.

I beat all the King’s Quest, Heir Today Gone Tomorrow was the best one. Love this series it exemplifies everything good and bad about the point and click adventure genre AKA hunt the pixel games.

Rise of the Triad is GDLK. Sacred Citadel is baby Dragon’s Crown. You guys play it? I’d be down to coop it. It’s pretty fun. Wish I could play it with my pad though, keyboard+mouse in a beat 'em up feels awkward as hell to me.

^ Some campaign action. Sadly streaming shits on my performance even with the performance tweaks posted up.

^ Streamed an MP match. Float like a bird, shoot rockets and create LUDICROUS GIBS! Had a serious performance hit but still came in first.

GGPO. Played some matches with @xiceman191 too.

I’ll post here too…

You can get Yatagarasu, the kof style fighting game, and another game for 1.50, or all of those games for 4.50… or more, if you aren’t a cheap ass.

^ If you’re in the market for a new video card, this is a pretty crazy deal. $200 after promo for a 3GB GDDR5 Radeon HD 7950. Absolutely nuts. I paid almost $200 for my 1GB GDDR5 card just last year.

If I wasn’t broke+newegg shipped to my crunchry I’d do this even though I prefer NVidia cards over AMD.

Oh shit I actually just got a booster pack… it’s actually possible to get one!

First 30 minutes of the new Shadow Warrior:

They turned Lo Wang into a generic John Woo movie extra… :frowning:

New Shadow Warrior looks slow-paced to me and it doesn’t resemble the original as much as it should.

Kind of sucks, Rise of the Triad came back faithfully but it’s not looking like it’ll be the same case for Shadow Warrior.

@Sonicabid the patch for Rise of the triad is now online it’s 958mbs
Change log:

  • Enabled “Stat FPS” console command to monitor ingame framerate
  • ”ARE YOU SURE?” When restarting level added
  • Arrow and Numberpad Keys + Special Characters, now bindable
  • If restarting a checkpoint with Armor in Singleplayer, the armor will work properly
  • Godhand in Multiplayer Nerfed. It will now respawn every 5 minutes and last 10 seconds
  • Scope/Blood is no longer stuck on screen if a Client happens to Die while activated
  • Disabled mouse smoothing by default
  • Added mouse smoothing launcher config option
  • Disabled smooth framerate locks by default
  • Increased the size of several memory pools to increase performance
  • Added several texture rendering optimizations
  • Added a variety of texture streaming optimizations

There is supposed to be another big patch next week

Nice, I’m downloading the patch now. I’ll check it out soon. I had tweaked some .ini files to get better performance on my own, but hopefully this patch and the next one gives an even bigger performance boost. You need consistent 60FPS for fast-paced games like this.

Holy fucking shit at this performance boost. No more huge FPS dips when a lot of action is going/explosions, and the FPS is more consistent than it ever was before. Fucking nice. Maybe I can stream the game now without taking a huge performance hit. Stuttering issues are all gone, too.

I turned on Depth of Field which I had off before to help with the framerate and I don’t notice any performance hit at all.

How well has Thief: Deadly Shadows aged? Steam has it as a daily deal and I’m interested in the new game.

New EA Humble Bundle. Crysis 2, Dead Space 1, Dead Space 3, Medal of Honor, Burnout Paradise for a dollar for all 5. All games redeem on Steam except for Dead Space 3. “Beat the average” of $4.50 to snag Battlefield 3 and The Sims 3 on top of everything else. Origin only though for those two games+Dead Space 3.

All money goes to charity. EA being generous=twilight zone.

You get a Steam AND Origin key for most games, so you technically are getting two copies of the same game. One you can redeem on Steam and the other you can give away(Origin key) and vice-versa.

HOLY SHIT!

Still not worth 1$ that EA wants to use to pad its origins numbers

also, I found a bug at the end of Shadowun Returns, where it wouldnt trigger the final dialog, meaning I couldn’t complete it… and of course given the save system, I had to roll back and complete the very annoying final battle just to attempt the conversation again. ugh.

All of those games redeem on Steam except for Dead Space 3, Battlefield 3 and The Sims 3.

I’ve personally played all the games that are going for a dollar, and it’s beyond worth it imo. I own some of them on console, but I’d love MoH+Crysis 2 on PC to play online.

Yes, but the goal is to get people to install Origin ultimately. For instance, Sims 3 is available on Steam… why not give the keys for that too? Is EA suddenly feeling generous?

This is a PR stunt to get gamers to stop hating on them, and to get more people using Origin. Yes, it’s a great deal, but I’m still not gonna do it because I just genuinely don’t want to support EA whatsoever. It’s the reason I never bought BF3, TOR, or anything recently really.

The one exception I would probably make is Skate 4, and SW:Battlefront is gonna be really tough to stick with, but I just really can’t stand them as a company at all

All of the money goes towards charity if that influences your decision.
