Iāve also gotta hand it to Freedom Planet, as itās possibly the best sonic-ish game to come out since the sonic games on Genesis. Letās face it guys, all the 3D sonics suckā¦ all of them. To say otherwise is someone completely in-denial.
The bosses are actually a lot of fun, to where I kinda hoped they had more HP for a longer lasting battle. Playing on Hard simply makes you take more damage, which I enjoy seeing as how I felt Normal was too forgiving. The music in this game is kinda hit and miss. It can be okay at times, but some stages come off really well done. All the boss songs have been on point, so thatās good.
The story is lol and rather cringe worthy. Itās one of those ātrying to hardā to act type voices that I gather from most of the characters (especially from the purple one). This becomes apparent when your turtle companion actually sounds like a good VAā¦ when heās being sarcastic. When it comes to serious moments howeverā¦ well, letās just say the mute button is always there.
Iām putting more time into this game than I thought I would. So much so, that I would have put in more time had I not run into a game breaking bug, disabling your route to progress further into the game. Submitting my complaint on the steam forums (with retarded responses, as to be expected), the devs acknowledge this issue and were able the resolve it, so now the game is beatable.
Overall; itās a good game.
Iām lucky to get a single match some days in ranked.
The trick is to start Arcade Mode with Fight Request on, played for hours didnāt even get to the rival battle.
Better trick: Play with my friends on 360 with the free version while trying to convince them to buy Ultraā¦
But you have to pay for the ability to play online.
I just canāt bring myself to be that foolish with money.
