*The "padhacking" thread*

Thank you very much!

That is what I thought but nothing was very clear. Thanks for clearing that up. Hopefully, when I get the cash, I can put this knowledge to use.

thanks dawg, but i aint into that Cthulhu shitā€¦cost to much.

New here: anybody have any information in this thread about if itā€™s possible to take the rumble off an XBox 1 controller? For all games?

Here we go:

Iā€™m just now starting to flesh in the XBox 360 section. Feel free to jump in any time guys! Those who are really ā€œin the knowā€, let me know once you have an account and Iā€™ll make you Sysops.

Hi guys

This is my first post so please go easy.

I was not sure if to post this in the adapter/controller or pad hacking thread so please forgive me if I have misplaced it.

I purchased a SFAC stick, I then purchased two El cheapo converters none of which work, and after reading these forums I found out why. Bad PCB.

So after alot of reading I chopped off the Xbox end and rewired it to suit USB.
This works a treat in Windows via mame and GGPO.
The only problem is for some reason Start and Select stop working. I have eight buttons that work so I usually program the last two to suit coin and start.

However with SF2HD and SF4 coming out i am now wanting to use this stick with my PS3. When I use the USB plug I attached it works in the XMB however the start and select button still do not work. So when i launch a game I cannot ā€œPress Startā€ to play.

When i try to use the PS2 port I have to use the Converter. Firstly if I bootup the converter using the PS2 port I get nowhere all 4 lights on the converter just flash. however if I plug in a PS2 dualshock and then swap back I can usually get it working for around 30seconds-1minute in game before it becomes screwy and starts pressing buttons.

Sorry for the long first post

But my overall question is

is there a way to make the start and select buttons work via the USB(formally xbox) connecter? or will I have to use a PS1?/PS3? PCB to be able to use this stick propperly on my PS3?

I already have some Happ parts in the mail for this stick. So am keen to make it work on the PS3 aswell

Man, I didnā€™t realize how long it would take me to get the hang of mediawiki. :stuck_out_tongue:

That, and Iā€™m finding that slagcoin has most of this stuff already. Iā€™ve started pulling in images, but I feel like Iā€™m mostly just ganking slagcoin stuff. I know that wonā€™t be the whole of it all, but still. Iā€™d feel better about this if others were contributing.

Anyone know where the ā€œbuttons light up on-pressā€ thread is? Search is down. Again. :frowning:

this?

search barely works anymore. :frowning:

Could anyone tell me the quality of a PSOne Revision M Pad? (Both with and without dualshock).

Iā€™ve already got two PSone pads and was wondering if the Revision M was a quality PCB to hack.

Also I have pictures of both (thanks to slagcoinā€™s site) but Iā€™m still unsure if they have a common ground (primiarily to my lack of PCB knowledge)

you do know that cthulu is like the easiest and most affordable options right?

i mean sure you could get a used ps3 pad, but those are a bitch to hack, and what if you break it? then youā€™re out a pad and you still donā€™t have a pcb

cthulu is win win in my opinion and iā€™ve never even used one, i can just tell by looking at it

That is fucking tightā€¦ Does that madcatz arcade pcb work well? Iā€™ve heard reports of flakyness.

You must be a real cheap bastard. Please excuse my language but get with the program man. The Cthulhu board is less expensive then any PS3 pad out there. Plus you can get the kit and save even more money. Soldering one of these kits takes at most 30 min and that is taking your time reading all the instructions. I can do one in 10 min. To top it all off this board is automatically recognized by a PC no need to hunt down drivers.

Kaytrim

Thanks for the light-up hack on the wiki Kaytrim. Saves me some effort. Iā€™m trying to dig through this thread - thereā€™s a TON of data though.

hey guys this will help me greatly as i am new to this. but i have a few questions.
before i start to make one for my ps2.

  1. why do i need to solder the 3.5v and the second image is to small to know where to solder it.
  2. we do not user r1 and r2 why do we not use thoughs i would have thought in street fighter one would be l2 for puch and r2 for kick ?
can someone explain this to me ?

thanks
w

hey people i need a little explanation here about the ps3 pcbā€¦

So i soldered everything, all the buttons, directions and resistorsā€¦
its was by far the toughest pcb we ve worked on but thanks to mr.thanatos it all went good.
Now what i want to ask is since i dont have a ps3 to check it out i hooked it on my pc downloaded some drivers and plugged the usbā€¦
Everything seems to work right thereā€™s only one thing i dont understand, why does it reads the directions as buttons? when i move the joystick instead of moving the Y/X axis it reads an input as a buttonā€¦
Is that normal? will it still work on ps3 properly?

Thatā€™s normal for a SIXAXIS, and I assume normal for a DS3 as well.

thanks Toodlesā€¦

the cthulu board is such a big save for all of usā€¦

i realize it now

:rock::pray:Cthulu Board FTW:pray::rock:

Im never gonna hack tha fuckin DS3 pcb ā€¦

hack I agree, those sixaxis and ds3 suck.
