sounds like something is crossed or soldered wrong for that to be happening
is there any downside for using the Madcatz Arcade stick pcb?
as long as all the buttons work when you hit them, no
does anyone have a diagram or a picture of the madcatz 360 arcade stick pcb? im debating picking up a couple this weekend to do but id like to see what im working with before I buy them and crack them open. Thanksā¦
edit: found everything www.slagcoin.com as mentioned by a previous poster.
get a 2007 or 2008 madcatz (or gamestop) controller. itll say the year its copyrighted.
those work. cost 25 bucks each which isnāt bad.
Iāve got a dual-pcb setup thatās been acting flaky lately. Itās a madcatz arcade 360 pcb and a PSOne dualshock, sharing the same +V and ground wiring.
Specifically whatās happening is that on my PC (so 360 PCB in use), certain buttons will start āflashingā. By this I mean the buttons work, but if you hold them down they alternate between showing pressed and not pressed every 1/2 second.
The rest of the conditions seem rather random. Sometimes itās punches, sometimes itās kicks, and plugging/unplugging the controller will fix it. The longer itās plugged in the more likely it seems to occur.
Thanks, that helped me figure out what to do. I just removed start and select from the chain and wired them to their own indivual grounds.
Prolly not the ONLY solution but it works for me.
I dunno anything about resistors yet but for SF: AC in particular, you can disable the analog in options mode. Did you try that?
does anyone have a diagram for the hori tekken 5 pcb and its cord? all the pics on various tutorials are brokenā¦
my apologies search hasnt been working for me the past few weeks, anyways wanted to know the pinout of the cord that goes to the ps2. Which one was 3.3, etc.
Sorry, canāt help you there =P
Iām modding a HALO 3 360 Controllerā¦ uses this circuit board:
The problem is that the LEFT trace ripped offā¦ is there an alternate spot I can use?
Common ground MadCatz 360 controller
Hello,
Iāve scanned this entire thread and wanted to verify that the madcatz controller (http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-MAD-CATZ-GAMEPAD-CONTROLLER-XBOX-360-MOV-547160_W0QQitemZ370084771038QQcmdZViewItem?_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116) that is being sold here is NOT a common ground controller.
I remember reading that the new batch the microcon controllers that have the joystick invert switch are not common ground. Since this one also has the invert switch, I figured that its not common ground as well. Can someone confirm?
Chris
Need some help i have a madcats duel force 1 for the psx and im trying to put the pcb into the HFS3. I got the joystick working but i was wondering if there is a common ground or where the ground are for the buttons when i tested 1 button it was just being held
here are pics of the pcb http://b.imagehost.org/view/0177/DSC00218.jpg
and here is the other side http://b.imagehost.org/view/0510/DSC00219.jpg
i have both a DualShock1 pad and an original PSX pad.
I want to use either pcb to mod green goblin agetec stick so i can use on my pc with a psx -> usb converter.
From reading posts on this thread, i take it that the original pad might have problems with the converter. (converter i plan to use: http://www.techstufftrading.com.au/playstation-controller-adaptor-super-joybox-p-229.html?osCsid=2105ef758173f9df56dab2e0493d26cd )
Also, which pad of the 2 is easier to hack?
Thanks
Can you get a better picture of the green side of the board. The flash is making it difficult to follow the trace. From what I can see the board is common ground. There is a trace that connects all the buttons, that would be the ground line.

I donāt know much about soldering on pads so Iāll try my questions here:
- Where do I solder ground on this one?
- Can I cut off vibrators, L- and R-PCBs?
- āAnalog PCB can be removed with resistorsā I donāt really understand. I doubt Iāll ever need to use the analog stick - just the D-pad will do fine. Can I cut the analog PCB off without doing the resistor-thing?
- The red circles mark good places to use. Scratch of a little of the green soldermask to expose the copper, and solder your ground there. Take your pick, is just as good as the other.
- Yes, and yes.
- If you donāt do the resistor thing, DO NOT remove the analogs!
